We booked for supper here, as we were staying at the Lace Market Hotel for one night. Surprisingly, the restaurant was less than half full (not a good sign at 9pm on a Friday evening), but the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our food was fine (though I can't remember what we had!), but we were informed that our first... More

My best friends brought me here to celebrate my birthday, and what a lovely time we had! The staff were excellent; friendly, courteous and nothing was too much trouble. The food came out quickly - a good selection of finger sandwiches and lovely cakes, plenty for the 4 of us - we didn't manage to finish everything off, sad to... More

Looked for a top notch restaurant for a date night with my wife and went for this one as it was rated as one of the top restaurants in the area. The service was outstanding but the food only slightly above average. My biggest niggle though was the 10% optional service fee that was added onto the bill. This for... More

I was so pleased that this place had opened again and couldn't wait to go. We went for lunch when it first opened and then dinner recently for a friends anniversary. I really hoped that they would get better and I'm gutted to say it hasn't. I don't like to post negative reviews but its heart breaking that it could... More

My wife booked a Travel Zoo offer-5 course taster meal for £55 for 2 people (normal price £90). We were met at reception, our coats taken and shown to our table. Whilst this was a fixed meal a menu was brought to show what we were having that evening which also included 2 glasses of Prosecco. First course was a... More

Can I start by saying I don't normally post bad reviews? I don't like being negative because on the whole, I prefer to see that people are trying their best. I can't do that this time. We booked afternoon tea as a treat for our lovely friend and bride to be. I won't bore you with a blow by blow... More

went for a 5 course tasting menu as a special treat for me, husband and our friends (4 of us in total) Had heard excellent things about this restaurant so we were excited. The food was OK, tiny but nice pea and ham soup, some smoked salmon course, a really nice chicken course, but then a shot of mojito and... More

The market menu seems like good value until you find that only 2 starters and 2 mains are at the advertised price. The other choices add a premium of £2-£6. Only desserts are without a surcharge. This was not the case last year so we will not return.

I bought a voucher for a taster menu and as the price was far less than it should have been I was not expecting it to be that good. I was very impressed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and although we did not pay the full price as shown on the menu we never felt... More
