I went here as part of a group of seven for Sunday Lunch. We all enjoyed ourselves and thought the food was good but there were several small areas that if improved would make it so much better. I am torn between a three star and four star rating but it was better than average although Very Good is rather... More

We visited the Windmill with a coach party and I had read some mixed reviews so wasn't really expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. The situation of the restaurant is perfect with lovely views over the countryside which falls away from the building. The interior is nicely done and is very conducive to eating out and the food was... More

Came here for Mothering Sunday and had a lovely dinner. We were in the last sitting and they had clearly been externally busy with the staff looking worn out but they remained polite and attentive. We had the 3 course meal and all of us had the roast which was lovely. I only have two very small gripes..the stuffing balls... More

Cannot fault the food. The starters main and dessert were all excellent. The service could have been better. We were a party of 12 and pretty much left to our own devices. When we got the bill they charged us 13 adult prices when in fact there were 9 adults 3 children and 1 that didn't turn up. Redid the... More

We went on a Sunday, and it was very busy so booking is recommended, but this did not effect the service which was very quick. We had soup to start a homemade mushroom which actually tasted of mushroom, although a little peppery for our personal taste, served piping hot and with a fresh oven baked roll. There was also a... For people like me who love a great choice of hors d'oeuvres, a genuinely good carvery and a that dying delight a desert trolley......look no farther than this restaurant! Attentive staff, rural feel and a really buzzing atmosphere, what better way to spend a winters Sunday lunchtime. I have also eaten here in the week, and whilst not so busy... More

Highly recommended cavery, hot and very tasty. We have been twice now this year and enjoyed both visits, the beef is my favourite cooked to perfection.

This was our first visit to this restaurant, recommended by a friend, we reserved our table for 13.00 and arrived 20 minutes early to be greeted by the manager, with a great smile and warm welcome, we were shown to our table early with no problems. He then went through what food was on offer, soup of the day and... More

My partner and I went here tonight, and it was wonderful! The building was beautiful and the food/service was really good! We went for the 3 course option, and all of the meat from the carvery was very tender and the pudding selection was surprisingly good! It was very much worth the money

We stopped in here on our way home and had not pre booked. We had a selection of Hors d'oeuvre to start. There was a good variety on offer. We then moved on to the main course... the roast beef was so succulent and tender you didn't need a knife...all served with a selection of fresh vegetables. It was nice... More
