Reviewed yesterday NEW

Old fashioned pub grub (actually the menu is quite extensive), big helpings, reasonable seating inside, lots outside. Overall a good pub stop if you are walking in this lovely area near the Thames. If you are into taxidermy or a fisherman there is even more of interest!

Arrived on a warm spring day to find the pub restaurant relatively busy with families and couples obviously exploring the picturesque surroundings this establishment lyes in. Went to the bar to order a few drinks and was served by a grumpy barman, who looked as if we were too much trouble for just wanting something to drink. There was no... More

Avoid avoid avoid!!!! The food is appalling, all frozen and tastes like it's out of a cash and carry! Table was filthy and my boyfriend put his phone down straight into yolk from a previous customer. Staff are dull as dishwater, you'd be lucky to get a smile. It all seems everything is such an effort for them. The only... More

My third visit to the Flower Pot today. Three friends and I had walked a few miles along the Thames Path and The Flower Pot is always a great place to stop. This is a proper pub, with character, welcoming staff and well kept beers. We all had a full lunch in the dining area and everyone really enjoyed their... More

We stopped for quick drink a after nice walk, looking forward to a little rest a few nibbles. The pub was mostly empty. We were eventually approach by grumpy landlord. Asked what nibbles they had, we were told it was on the board, which we couldn't really read as it was the side. We ordered two halves of different lagers... More

This pub is a hard one to put your finger on! Taxidermy and mounted fish are the decor du jour in this tucked away oasis. Only had one pint but not sure we could have stayed for much more than that. Very much 'a local pub for local people' vibe but seem welcoming should you want to join in the... More

After a beautiful walk in the winter sun along the Thames, from Hambleden Mill to The Flower Pot, the huge log fire and welcome from Tony, the Landlord, was most welcome. As hungry walkers, we were delighted not to have to wait long for food which was well cooked and brought to the table by Tony's friendly partner, the head... More

I went in with a large group of walkers who had brought picnics. The landlord confirmed he was happy for them to eat their own food in the garden if they bought a drink at the bar. The staff obligingly served us, despite the nuisance factor of most of us buying our drinks individually and a lot people wanting coffees.... More
