12 o'clock opening so get there early and take in the great interior and welcoming staff. Wonderfull beer selection, Old Peculier and Palmers of Bridport to mention a few. Nice area, just away from the bustle. It should be on your list.

This is what I would call a proper pub. It has dark wood and beams and all the rustic character, it hasn't been modernised to be swanky and is just how a real pub should be. The atmosphere was great in this pub, lots of...More

We nipped in here for a cold drink while exploring the city and it has bags of character, as well as the decorations of various insignia on the outside which is appealing. Less so the notice pinned to the rafters warning you about pickpockets, but...More

Visited here as it is on route to Pitt Rivers it is clearly popular as the first two bars were full, if you go towards the toilets there is a small seating area which is a bit abandoned compared to the rest of the pub....More

It is a long time since we sat in what felt like a traditional pub. We were surrounded by locals yet made to feel very welcome. The simple sandwich lunch was excellent value, as was the wine. Thank you.

Having previously enjoyed our visits we decided to take a group of family to experience the hospitality of a traditional Oxford pub and the beer was as good as ever. We weren't in a rush, so when the food took a while to arrive we...More

I have an old sweatshirt of my husbands from The Lamb and Flag from the 1987-88 school year. He was in school & bartender there for the year. I would love to be able to get a new sweatshirt. Is this possible?
