At the time of day we visited it was quiet. This is understandable. At night it must be one of the bets pubs on George Street. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

After giving this place a negative review last year i thought about time i gave it a second chance, dont know why i bothered . Myself and a friend were only ones stood at bar and 2 members of staff walked past us more than once , ok maybe they could have been pre occupied but an acknowledgement of our... More

Nice wooden surroundings give the place a very comfy ambiance. Very friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere in which to relax after walking your feet off round Oxford. A excellent range of cask & craft beers. Called in on a Wednesday afternoon for a couple of beers, it was fairly quiet. Enjoyed Wild Weather Betrayal and Siren Broken Dream. Went... More

Hi Ian, Many thanks for your lovely review! I'm glad I was able to accommodate you both considering how busy we were. I have passed on your comments about the pizza to our chef who was more than delighted to hear that. Hopefully we see you again soon! More

Popped into Beerd and loved the vibe. We were too late to try the pizza so had to settle for choosing from their vast choice of beers. Surprised to hear they only sold in 2/3 pint which seemed just like another way to charge a lot more for 'artisan' beers... I liked it but be aware of the pricing and... More

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to give us a review! Hopefully next time you get to try one of our pizzas! We do sell a lot of out beer in pints. However, some of our more unique beers are only sold in 2/3's. We try our best to be consistent with our prices in relation to which beers we... More

Jumped off the Park and Ride bus right outside this place, so went straight in! Cask ales and pizza looked good. Boyfriend went to choose an ale, I had a wine (around £8.50). Sat at a table near the back, very chatty atmosphere, seemed popular. Got chatting to a couple of locals who recommended some other cask ale bars in... More

I have walked down George Street and passed by Beerd frequently, but decided to pop in for the first time yesterday - I was pleasantly surprised! Great atmosphere, great selection of beers (I quite like the 2/3 pint servings and glasses actually) and the pizza's were fresh and tasty - what more could you want!? I will be recommending Beerd... A great little pub with superb selection of craft beers, not the cheapest but then we are in Oxford. The staff were friendly and helpful. More than happy to recommend a similar drink to the last as the selection is varied, the food looked good but I did not try, pizza and beer is a great combo.

You should have seen the look of consternation on Neil, Graham and Richard's face when I said that beer could not be served for wait 20 minutes! It ain't cheap either, with 2/3 pint glasses costing more than a normal pint of beer.

Hi Paul, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Sadly, it seems, you visited us within the 2 hour period when we had a bit of a problem with our cellar. Sorry to disappoint you on this time, hopefully you visit us again soon. Mark More

Specialty is handcrafted pizza and craft beer. The pizza was outstanding. We ordered the ham, mushroom and olive pizza, but you can also add many items if desired. The pizza crust was hand thrown and really good. We did not care for the beer but I think it was all pretty good. We love the British ales and that is... More

Beerd is the sole surviving Victorian pub in Oxford city centre, offering an extensive range of local and world beers from artisan and independent breweries, and delicious Italian-style pizzas. Inspired by craft beer bars in the US, visitors to Beerd are greeted by an ever changing beer list available in one-third, half, two-third and pint measures. Friendly and knowledgeable staff are on-hand to guide you through the mouth-watering range, whether you're a hops novice or bonafide beer geek, and an eclectic and colourful bespoke décor makes for a stimulating sensory experience designed to offer beer enthusiasts a point of difference - but with a great range of wines, cider, spirits and soft drinks too! Food is served throughout the day and hungry patrons can tuck into freshly-made, hand-crafted Neopolitan-style pizzas. For a quick nibble, premium bar snacks match the global beer on offer, including bar dough, crispy pig skins and cured meat platters. Situated in a prime location, the pub's curiously traditional exterior stands out from the surrounding identikit chain bars and restaurants, whilst the new, lovingly restored interior envelops you with a warm welcome.
