I don't normally leave reviews but felt after a visit here I had to join TripAdvisor to vent my disappointment. We visited here a few weeks ago & wish we drove on!! Everything about our visit was dreadful. Firstly we ordered our drinks at the bar, None of the wine I ordered, not surprised as the bar is badly stocked,... More

This place used to be really good but the last 2 visits have been a nitemare. First we waited 50 mins for our starter! With 2 hungry kids it is no joke, finally when the food came and I complained the manager (I think), he was really rude. If I hadn't been so hungry I would have walked out. The... More

Me, my husband and 5 year girl visited here after a boxing day walk. Firstly the young lady serving behind the bar was a credit to the pub she was lovely, helpful and friendly. Only me and my daughter ate as my husband wasn't hungry they were fine about this. I had fish and chips (I don't like chips and... More

We unfortunately tried to eat here on Friday 30th December 2016. It was awful. I haven't complained about food in over 10 years. I was nervous to take the rubbish back, but it was an extremely poor service. I waited 40 minutes for a tuna baguette. When it arrived, it looked like a varnished dog toy. The ones that squeak... Went for a family meal eight in total. Even though we checked there were eight meals ordered and this was confirmed they still managed to forget one of the kids meals. It took them about 15 minutes to even work this out and get the missing meal on order. By the time the condiments came my chips were cold took... More

I have been wanting to visit this pub now for a while. Every time we have passed towards the Woodhead Pass. My husband asked me to phone and book a table which I did. We went yesterday Sunday. To say the food and experience was really dire would be an understatement. I looked at the menu online and noticed that... More

good location just off the by-pass , good choice of menu and beers all at reasonable prices .... its been about 10 years since I last visited and I do remember it being better but ideal for a stop off after a walk or like us on our way to Manchester airport

Went for a family birthday celebration where most of the party were having the Sunday carvery but as a vegetarian I had to have the ONLY vegetarian option on the menu, it's 2016 not the 1970s!! God help you if you wanted gluten free or vegan... They carvery was ordered and paid for in advance at the bar. They told... More

I think the other reviews are very unjust. We visit the ye old mustard pot, on average two to three times a year when we visit family in Manchester. We love the place, the staff like the pub are warm and welcoming. My partner had the giant Yorkshire pudding with mash potato(a bit lumpy), beef and gravy, he said he... More

A terrible experience, the food is very poor quality, the burger and chips is the worst burger I've ever had, over cooked, no sauce, very dry and the chips were under cooked. The table wobbled, one had fungus growing under the glass, cushions dirty and old, the rest room was dirty. The service was good and they was kind enough... More
