We went at half past one on a warm, Autumn Sunday afternoon. Very pleasant and easygoing welcome by a charming waitress called Emma. Dog settled almost immediately. We ordered the Crab Bisque (impressive and deep) and Wild Mushroom Consommé (dreamy and sylvanian). we shared a...More

Fantastic ambience. First class food and service. I would visit Bath again just to eat at The Ring O Bells.

How often do you see chef's portrait on the wall, oil on canvas, when you go to the restaurant? The food was delicious, unforgettable, full of flavour and presented nicely. In fact, if the chef decided to sell copies of his painting, based on the...More

I prefer a Bistro compared to white table cloths and cut glass restaurants. The Ring of Bells is a reliable bistro restaurant more than a pub bistro. Not overly expensive. Great food, friendly atmosphere, good local history and following. Graeme, based Bathampton (local).

Chose the restaurant based on the reviews and the menu on the website so was disappointed that they don't do the alacarte anymore and it was only tapas. In this day it's a bit ridiculous not to update the website as soon as they changed...More

An amazing restaurant, the chef was very kind and served us after the kitchen was closed as we enjoyed one of the dishes so much we ordered it again. Perfect food and excellent service, they were also very helpful with food intolerances!

Let me start by saying that all the courses served to us were very tasty and enjoyable. Why the 3 star rating then? It's this modern concept going around restaurants, of serving courses in no particular order but just when they are ready at the...More

Situated in Widcombe, very close to the centre of the famous spa City of Bath, the Ring O Bells is a two minute walk from Bath Spa railway and bus stations, and close to Bath Rugby and Cricket grounds. Most definitely a locals favorite serving seasonal food using locally sourced ingredients, the Ring O Bells welcomes you with a warm, intimate atmosphere. A wide selection of beers, real ale from Moles of Melksham and international wines are available, along with delicious and varied menus including everything from generous tapas with homemade bread to Sunday Roast, plus a la carte fine dining and a good selection of vegetarian dishes. You'll find live jazz in the bar every Sunday evening, and events in the separate upstairs function room, which is also perfect for your private parties. This country feel gastropub with flagstone floors and large tables is a great place to meet with friends and eat good food at any time of the week. Adjacent to the River Avon and Kennet & Avon Canal, and close to Prior Park Gardens National Trust land, the Ring O Bells is also an ideal stop off point while exploring Bath.
