A fantastic meal, we chose the two course menu and were not disappointed with any of the four dishes. At the end of the meal I was presented with a small but perfectly formed chocolate ganache covered Birthday cake, which was the perfect culmination to a lovely meal. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing good advice that enhanced our weekend... More

Four of us chose quite a varied menu of starters and mains so we had a chance to compare choices, including one vegetarian. Without exception everything was cooked, seasoned and presented to perfection. Chicken liver parfait with rhubarb and chutney was sensationally tasty. A leek and potato soup was a beautiful warm creamy bowl - perfect on a cold rainy... More

Bar has wonderful lights and comfortable seating. Salmon pink walls in dining room a bit overpowering, but again most attractive lights. Fixed price menu had good choices and the food was well presented and pleasantly served. Winter fruit salad was good but perhaps the fruit was a little too wintery, aka still slightly frozen. Strangely quiet on the day we... More

Unfortunately this Restaurant did not live up to our expectations. The staff looked sharp, however didn't seem genuine & were not attentive to our needs at all. The starters were okay without being anything special, but the mains were a real let down. We both had steak and were told they came with peas, however when they arrived they had... More

The Alium is part of the Abbey Hotel and is well worth a visit. Despite the building being in keeping with Bath architecture, the décor is modern without being out of place. The bar area is very comfy with a good selection of drinks available at reasonable prices. Quirky artwork catches your eye and there are light fittings made out... More

I was staying at the Abbey Hotel and thought I would give their restaurant a try; glad I did. They have a creative menu and had some dishes with unique flavors. I had the pressed terrine of chicken as a starter, the roast filet of pollock as a main, and the winter fruit trifle for dessert. All were delicious and... More

Lovely evening had, food was good. Lots of flavour and seasoned perfectly! Staff were friendly and attentive! Definitely worth a visit. Horrible pink walls but lots of wonderful art work to decorate. Had a drink in the bar before, lovely atmosphere.

Chose this as one of our two restaurants to dine at when we visited Bath. Great bar area, shame we didn't get there earlier as it really is a welcoming area for pre dinner drinks. The service was excellent, very welcoming from the moment we arrived, right down to the second we left, when we were asked if we needed... More

We booked a Party Night for 8 people and from start to finish ALL the staff were helpful, kind and attentive. I'm always a little dubious of Christmas 'set' menus as often the quality is poor; in this instance that couldn't be further from the truth. The food served was of their usual very high standard and really good value... More

We had a room for 14 or so which was great and service was good too. Food was average and portions were small. Worse part was the guy at the till who obviously can't add and was trying to get us to pay more. Not much of an apology either. Second time this happens to me in Bath in a... More
