We stayed in the hotel, and had an evening meal. Husband & I both had the belly pork. OMG. It was the best we have ever had. Presentation was beautiful, the food was FANTASTIC. Wish I could have told the chef. We could not fault anything. The staff kept an eye on you ( without being suffocating) to ensure you... More

Lovely lunch in this attractive dining room of the pub. Good value special 'market menu' although very limited in choice. Beautiful food and well presented. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. Service polite and friendly but slow at times.

Great present from our lovely daughter. The 5 course tasting menu was excellent. And they did a special gluten - free version for my wife which was equally good. The orange and carrot soup was special. Only thing we didn't like was the thyme flavoured ice cream. Young lady in charge of the service was very professional. Unfortunately the new... More

Fabulous chef - well worth a visit. The White Hart is also worth staying in. Our room was spacious, attractive and comfortable.

We had purchased the deal for the five course taster menu. We were so impressed, having lived in the area for over 20 years, we had never been in The White Hart before, despite spending many evenings in the pubs and restaurants of Wells. I would wholeheartedly recommend dining in Sadler's Brasserie, the welcome was warm and genuine, the service... More

Having read some of the review on Tripadvisor, we were a little concerned that we might not enjoy the experience. However, we really needn't have worried! The comments that were made seemed very petty once we had been along and tasted the food. The Hake dish was totally 'to die for', and that alone will pretty much guarantee we will... More

We really enjoyed our two-course lunch at the Sadler's Brasserie today; our biggest surprise was that there weren't more people in the restaurant. I hope this means that I am ahead of the crowd for once! The waiting staff are pleasant and efficient, the lunch menu choices, although obviously limited as we were on a special offer, still offered the... More

We ate in this restaurant & stayed at the pub (The White Hart). We experienced the most amazing 5 course taster menu & breakfast following morning. Taster menu changes every few weeks, but we had cauliflower/Jerusalem artichoke soup, ham hock terrine terrine, hake on a bed of chorizo, celeriac, cream sauce. Belly & tenderloin pork on a bed of potato... More

The decor is quirky the curtains are a world away from matching the carpet, however the service and food all 3 courses was lovely, we enjoyed every mouthful, only one slight niggle the treacle tart/sponge was slightly over done. But a great evening with great service and food. The drinks were great to a choice of good quality labels.

Whilst the food was tasty, there was no time between the courses to appreciate each one, before the next arrived. We'd booked a table early and were the only people in the restaurant, for a while, which meant we had the undivided attention of the two waitresses, when we only wanted to savour the food flavours and share each other's... Description
Refurbished & re-launched by new owners (January 2016). Sadler's Brasserie is the relaxed informal restaurant at The White Hart Hotel.

Our New Head Chef, Jason Porter has taken the reins at the Sadler's Brasserie! He will now use his extensive and renowned culinary skills to make Sadler’s Brasserie on Sadler Street one of the go-to destination restaurants in the West Country.
Having gained rave reviews as head chef of the New Inn, in Cerne Abbas, Dorset, Jason is hoping his well-crafted textures, delightful flavours and excellent presentation will win over foodies and locals looking for an honest and well-priced dining experience.
Originally from Wells, Jason discovered his passion for cooking while working at Ritcher’s Restaurant (now Goodfellows) in Wells where his natural ability and drive resulted in him becoming head chef by the age of 18.
With a clear vision of what he wanted and need to widen his knowledge he then applied for a position at Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant at Claridges. Having impressed the team he was offered a position at The Connaught, the five-star Mayfair hotel where the celebrity chef had taken over the food and beverage.
