Popped in today for lunch with my friend. Had lunch from the set menu which was excellent. Food was of a very high standard and service could not be faulted. Definitely recommend the Black Lion. Very quaint country hotel.

This year we came back to the Black Lion and plan to come back next year. So, yes, we really like this tiny hotel /B&B. The restaurant is fantastic; great food ; practically a fine dining experience.

Popped in here for Saturday lunch recently in lieu of Mother's Day lunch. We chose from the 'market menu' which is their fixed price set menu. Not a massive choice (3 from each course) but need not have worried as there's something for everyone on each. The food was beautifully cooked and very nicely presented and tasted great as well,... You will get a high quality meal made with good local products. GF options available. You do pay the price for it, but it is a cut above other local places. Highly recommend.

We ate here on Sunday evening 27th Feb. The food is absolutely amazing. Can honestly say there were taste combinations I had never experienced before. I would totally recommend the restaurant. I cannot recommend the hotel as we didnt stay there but the staff whom we met were very friendly.

Popped in for a cuppa when visiting Long Melford. This is a very quaint hotel set on the Green overlooking Melford Hall. The lounge area is extremely comfortable and has large drop end sofas to chill out on. Proper tea and very pleasant staff. Would definitely recommend! It also has an excellent lunch menu which represents good value.

We visited the Black Lion for Sunday lunch. It was a last minute decision and although we booked we needn't have bothered. We were somewhat worried when we were shown to our table as there was only one other couple there. However all our concerns were unfounded. The food was absolutely delicious - very well presented and portions were just... More

We visited the Black Lion today for the first time. It is a lovely building which offers very relaxed surroundings. We were welcomed by a lovely man who lit the fire for us. The roast dinner was really tasty. I had beef and my husband had chicken - both delicious . The only thing that let the meal down for... More
