Discovered this pub on my way home. Had a lovely Sunday roast, which had all the trimmings. Lovely fresh vegetables and a lovely gravy. Really enjoyed the food. The staff were very friendly and very polite. A good selection of beers. Definitely going back again. Worth while a stop!!

Delicious, lovely pub for a Mega Breakfast at £6.00 including coffee. There is a good choice for breakfast, but we opted for the MEGA and didn't need to eat for the rest of the day!

Discovered this pub today, and very pleased I did. We had a Sunday Roast, and the roast beef was excellent. There was a good amount of food including vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. All of us were very happy with the food. The staff were friendly and attentive. The other customers were wonderfully friendly. The overall atmosphere was... More

This is a nice old pub with friendly staff and a good "Newmarket" atmosphere. Several televisions all showing sports (but mostly racing). Good selection of beers and good staff.

A traditional pub, serving a variety of ales and food. The outdoor seating area is busy on an evening.

Very busy bar lots of groups of men sat inside and out. It reminded me of a Saloon in a Western quite dark I wouldn't go there if it was a group of ladies

Hi. Glad you liked us. It is true that on busy race days, as with all the pub's in Newmarket, there are more blokes in town than ladies and the smokers tend to take advantage of the 140 person outside seating area we have. Visit us out of the racing season and find a lovely, friendly traditional pub. More

This traditional pub, on a very busy high street, is worth a visit for the quality of food, choice of beers and friendly atmosphere. It is reasonably quiet at lunchtimes but I can imagine, as another reviewer confirmed, that it would be noisy and hectic at nights and especially weekends and racing days.

When you have to shout at the barmaid to get a drink because the bar is so noisy. Full of foul mouthed locals.

Hi. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. As a pub catering to the racing industry and large Irish population you may well hear bad language and I apologise for any offence this may have caused. More

My husband had the scampi, I had the poached egg on toast, and my son had a bacon sandwich. The latter two only cost £3 and included a drink! The poached eggs were excellent - not often do you get a 'proper', perfectly poached egg. Meals being taken to other tables also looked fantastic. Service was quick, good food, and... More
