Have not been to the Abinger Hatch for a few years and went with family for Easter Monday lunch. The standard of the food has slipped dramatically since my last visit. Should not be difficult to provide a decent roast dinner. The lamb was dry, the potatoes were like golf balls and the vegetables were under cooked and sprayed with... More

Went for dinner on Easter Sunday and was really disappointed by the food. The portion of 'aubergine cannelloni' one of my companions was served with was pitiful and had to be returned. My own 'slow cooked lamb' was bland and completely under seasoned. It was a soggy mess of shredded looking meat, the roast potatoes were soggy, the gravy tasteless... More

We were just there for a drink. Who'd have known ordering 4 drinks would be such a chore for the staff, who we assumed were the owners. The staff were rude to everyone else trying to provide custom in different ways. Insulting those who couldn't remember which name their table was booked in, harassing another with their order, needlessly getting... More

Relaxing delicious lunch (juicy whitebait, succulent roast duck) in the large pleasant garden - lots of tables and lots of room to sprawl on the grass if you can't get one. Order your drinks (good range of small brewery beers - at least two bitters) at the garden bar and they will be delivered to you at your table by... More

Beautiful location and good-sized portions of tasty fare - great choice on a sunny Saturday afternoon- and dog friendly too.

Really friendly beautiful pub in glorious countryside. Simple food done really well with well kept beers. Loved the relaxed feel and there are some great walks from here.

Having had a fab lunch at The Abinger Hatch a year ago, we thought it a great idea to all go as a family of 8 to celebrate Mother's Day. Unfortunately a real disappointment. Not sure if the chef has changed, but the food was bland and poorly executed. The waitress however was the crowning glory; such a surly and... More

This used to be a lovely pub but it has sadly gone downhill. We visited on a sunny Saturday with a pre-booked table for lunch. The staff/management seemed to have lost control of the place and had served a large group of 'walk-ins' sitting in the garden meaning we waited over an hour for our starters. We were offered some... Last came here a year ago and had a great meal. This time the waitress was rude and stroppy. The lamb was a greasy , overcooked mess and the roast potatoes were anaemia. The whole family wished we had stayed at home. We won't be back
