We were staying at the adjoining Grey Street Hotel for two nights on Bed and Breakast terms with breakfast being provided in The Living Room. The charge as part of our total bill was £10 per person per day. On arrival at the hotel we saw a description/photo of what was typically on offer for breakfast in the information folder... More

One does not expect to attend as part of a group booking with important business colleagues to and then to be told that four items on the fairly short menu of mains were "off". This did not happen when the menus were delivered, but after we had been given time to choose and of course people had chosen things that... More

Held a drinks event (with canapés) for approx 140 people in the downstairs bar / room. Very good location. Prices for canapés were reasonable and good choice of options. Sue and the team kept in touch with us prior to the event to make sure everything would be as we wanted it - nothing was too much trouble. The room... More

Well we were being told what they didn't have on the menu before we were even seated. We asked for some time between our starters and the mains. We were then served the mains before they had even finished clearing away our starters! Beef n ale pie was just gristle n ale. The fish n ribs was ok. Ordered desserts... More

We recently held a quiz evening for 18 people at The Living Room, I dealt with Sue in organizing the event who was brilliant - she answered all of my questions and always came back quickly. As soon as we arrived Sue introduced herself, and once finished her shift she passed us on to another colleague who took care of... More

I have been here a couple of times in the past and always enjoyed its environment, professional staff and good food. That was until I revisited yesterday (after aprox a year from previous visit) and it was nothing like I remembered. What used to be a nice relaxing meal has turned into a restaurant that was pumped with house music.... More

I was away from home on my own and staying at The Grey Street Hotel and decided to try the Living Room next door. The staff made me welcome and I was nicely surprised when the food came. It was a large portion well presented and tasted lovely. No hassle at all and I felt very comfortable thank you to... More

Description
Situated on Grey Street in Newcastle, The Living Room is a contemporary bar and restaurant with a laid-back vibe that keeps the locals coming back for more. During the day, it's the ideal place to do business over lunch or refuel after a day of shopping. In the evening, the modern eatery fills up with a lively post-work crowd catching up over cocktails. The fixed price menu is great value for money and there is plenty to choose from with all our dishes made with top quality seasonal ingredients. With dishes such as Thai fish cakes, Monkfish and Pork Blocks that not only taste great but look it too why not come and try?
