11 of us went for a big birthday meal and the menu was really varied. Loved the non alcoholic cocktails and the panettone bread and butter pudding. Our pasta dishes were well thought through, tasty and filling with delicious flavours. The pizzas looked Devine as well. Well recommended.

Recently visited Newcastle and as we wasn't from the local area it is always difficult to choose a good restaurant, so like many others we checked out trip advisor!!! We came across this restaurant and decided to go and what a lovely meal we had!! In fact we all agreed the garlic bread was the best ever!! As we all... More

Firstly this review is 100% genuine. I have recently had a nice meal here ....being only a pizza but it was very nice. I must say that the lager at 4.75 isn't cheap but it is in a prime location in Newcastle.Pizza was marguerita at a cost of £8.95.Total cost of meal £13.70. The restaurant has a lovely convivial feel... More

My partner and I tried to get into one of the bigger brand steak houses round the corner and they were full, thank god they were. Our barman at the hotel had mentioned this place and wow what a recommendation. From start to finish the food and service was amazing. We shared antipasti to start, my partner had fillet steak... My friends and I decided to try and get a table without booking and we were lucky enough to get one as it was busy inside at 8pm on a Saturday. The waitress that served us was really friendly, I didn't get her name otherwise I would personally mention her. We had some bread and olives to start which were... More

We both had risotto to start which was very tasty and perfectly cooked. I ahd sea bream for main and my husband had meatball pizza, both were very enjoyable. We shared a desert which was unremarkable.Good... More

The restaurant was recommended by some local people that we met in a pub. Had great food for a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend the beetroot and duck risotto

We had been meaning to try this place for a while - live round the corner - so were looking forward to the meal when we came in on a Saturday night. Firstly, the service was friendly enough, so no gripes there, but that's where the positives end unfortunately. Gin & Tonic served in a coke/lemonade glass wasn't a great... More

Description
Marco Polo is an Italian bistro that is celebrating its 42nd year of trading. We are an independent restaurant and locally owed. We offer a wide range of pizza/pasta and consider this to be our bread and butter. However we really come in to our own on the a la carte side of the menu. All our dishes are prepared on site and deliver extremely good value. The restaurant is always busy and has great atmosphere. We can cater for most requests. We take reservations and also hold a number of tables back for walk-in custom. So if you're passing pop in.
