Visited the hotel bar with friends around 10pm 28/10/16, found tried to have a conversation was near impossible due to the volume of the music from the inhouse speakers, asked a member of staff if this could be turned down but was this was not possible due to speakers being on automatic setting. Left the bar shortly after. Not a... More

We stopped for lunch at the Brasserie, because the fixed-price autumn menu looked interesting. The restaurant was empty (we should have taken the hint), but the food still took a long time to arrive. There was maintenance work going on elsewhere in the hotel which involved a lot of banging, and the staff turning up the background music to drown... More

The four of us, me, my wife and two children aged 9 & 7 arrived in Newcastle for the night last Thursday. We had a stroll along the quayside and decided to have lunch at the Malmaison. We chose the restaurant because of the brand and looked forward to a good lunch. After 45 minutes and a few exchanges with... More

I was very disappointed with the restaurant. It was a very busy Sunday evening. The food itself was good, and the person serving me was also very good... but... there were just too many tables and not enough staff. The waiter looking after my table was just too busy to provide a decent level of service and several times we... More

A while since we stayed here , could be awhile until we return..... Definite reduction in standards , no orange juice, no butter , no tea spoons ..... Generally 'scruffy ' in appearance , could do with a spruce up .

Staff friendly, if a bit clinical? Once again , I'm sick of the entrance of hotels being treated as a smoking zone. It's disgusting. Have stayed at the Premier Inn a few hunfed metres down the Quayside and I'm not sure what the difference is.

Fantastic afternoon tea but not good service. Booked a table by phone for 3 adults for afternoon tea plus one child. Arrived and the table had been set for 3 only, but after a short wait we were shown to a table for four. As my son wasn't having the afternoon tea I asked for the menu which came but... More

A lovely meal looking out of the window at the Millenium bridge. The tuna tartare and the blackened salmon made fabulous starters . These were followed by a great venison steak and lobster risotto. Wines available by the glass not just by the bottle and good service made for an enjoyable evening. Great location on the Quayside so will certainly... More

Me and 2 friends came here for afternoon tea. We have tried a lot of afternoon teas around the region and we must say this is definitely up there! Having wraps and burgers instead of sandwiches is a nice change and the smoothie was lovely. The staff (Rhys)was very helpful and looked after us well, couldn't have faulted them! If... More
