We had a lovely lunch as a celebration. The starters were original, the main course well prepared and the sweets a finale. Portions were large and presentation good. Our only disappointment was the arrival of Yorkshire puddings with every meat. They should stay with beef!...More

Large group of giggly ladies were accommodated in a private dining room for a fabulous afternoon tea. What a delicious selection of food in exquisite surroundings served by exceptionally helpful and attentive staff. Well worth the price for the experience. We were served a broccoli...More

Yes, we were tired and hungry. And yes it was the last meal of our UK trip...but it was wonderful. The waitstaff were kind, helpful and added to the enjoyment of our meal. Perhaps because we were overnight guests (highly recommended as well), we had...More

My Mum and I had a lovely Sunday lunch here. The roast beef was delicious and the starters were very nice. My dessert was a bit of a let down (rhubarb cheesecake), it looked so pretty but there was a big biscuit base which was...More

have already submitted a review of the hotel in general but can add that little extra regarding the restaurant. The choices at dinner were extensive and the quality of food to a high standard . Staff were friendly yet professional and the Sommelier knows his...More

Really enjoyed the afternoon tea. There is a lot of food for the price and it is very good. The sausage roll was probably one of the best I have had. On the savoury tier there are two sandwiches, a sausage roll and a tart....More

My daughter and I are dairy and nut free so afternoon tea is normally a nightmare - you either get a fruit salad or they don’t do it. This was quite something else. An excellent selection, amazing dairy free scones and a wonderful setting. A...More

We've been to Jesmond Dene House a few times for special occasions but were disappointed this time - the food was generally good, although a bone marrow sauce was actively nasty, but the service was very inattentive. No offer to take coats, no attempt to...More

We visited Jesmond Dene House over Valentine's Day for afternoon tea. The location was lovely, we walked from the train station which was quite a distance but it was worth it just to meet the little cat that came to greet us in the car...More

HI, No, we don't have a dress code in the restaurant. Guests normally dress in smart / casual, so dressy trousers won't be inappropriate. Regards, Nick

Description
Our award-winning Restaurant (three AA Rosettes) is based on simple but firm principles. We start with the best ingredients we can find, preferably local (some from the hotel garden), and we believe taste is more important than style. Our Head Chef, Michael Penaluna, and his team, make it their business to get to know our suppliers, then use their skills to produce dishes that enhance rather than confuse the flavours. Classic techniques but a contemporary approach to produce Modern British dishes that are light, fresh, flavoursome. Whether you fancy our breakfast which is bigger, tastier and healthier than ever, great value Lunch Menu, House Menu Dinner Menu, you'll find an atmosphere that's warm, relaxed and friendly. Our Restaurant has two dining areas: the former music room with earthy tones and fun splashes or orange and the light and leafy Garden Room with its summer terrace.
