Vast room with recent quirky decoration and furnishing that is attractive and comfortable. Lots of different types of seating and plenty of space, with newspapers available. Great range of food and drink, including two different soups each day. Soup, cakes and full breakfast all tried and all were good. Tea is presented in suitably industrial revolution enamel tea pots in... More

Stayed at the cafe a while, enjoying the Sunday crowd. The food was as expected, quality for money, reasonable. However service was disappointing, especially by the young waitress with long black hair. Very rude, lazy and unwelcoming. Other members of staff were ok, but seemed they didn't enjoy work. And why serve such big teapots if you're only going to... More

Booked a Celebration Afternoon Tea here for my mum's birthday. We went on Saturday just gone. The good: - Lovely building. - Fresh food. - Nice Champagne. The not-so-good: - Not particulary friendly service. No one was rude but it was a bit impersonal. For instance, we weren't shown to our seats first - we had to stand at the... More

Four family members enjoyed our afternoon tea with prosecco here last time and they seemed to make a special effort for the vegetarian in our group. However, this time the sandwiches for the meat eaters only consisted of salami (3 quarters) and tuna (3 quarters), all on white bread, not very imaginative to say the least. Our selection of cakes... Ordered a vegetarian breakfast and the portion was tiny consisting of one fried egg, half a tomato, a small mushroom, tiny piece of halloumi and 1 piece of toast for £7.50! Also cups, saucers and teaspoons were all dirty. Nice venue and surroundings but overpriced and dirty crockery. Wont be coming back.

I love this place, beautiful architecture and lovely menu. Yes perhaps a little bit more expensive then in different coffee shops but you pay for the individuality of the place, great staff and quality food. Perfect for doing work as it has power sockets by most of the booths. Busy during lunch time :)

I have to say firstly everyone I had dealings with here have been brilliant - great service and very helpful from booking to the visit. I booked this for a family occasion and was very disappointed with the Champagne afternoon tea. The sandwich combinations were strange with one tasting like sweet jam and cheese the meat eaters left the sliced... More

all far too expensive. would boost sales and attendance if prices more affordable . Pensioners usually bring grand children and cannot afford these prices

The ultimate tea room with a variety of styles of seating and ideal for anything from a quick coffee to a leisurely lunch. Good variety of choice which includes gluten free, and really tempting cakes. Difficult to fathom how such a large room can feel so cozy and a visit to the museum without a visit to the Tea Room... The Edwardian tea rooms are everything one can wish for on a cold rainy afternoon. Get yourself a steaming pot of tea and curl up with a good book for some quality time spend in reading surrounded by the beautiful atmosphere of the Edwardian style tea room. Splendid!
