I and a companion used this establishment as a place to eat between two related events round the corner in Duke Street. Although we were clocked by the bar staff on entry, there seemed to be no set way of ordering food and the kitchens seemed understaffed. Eventually we ordered at the bar. The food was not good. The steak... More

We visited just before Christmas mid-week to find the comfortable and relaxing Loft Lounge atmosphere had been removed and replaced what looked like old pallets and chip board giving the feeling of a half-finished make-over. The fireplace and sofas were replaced with dining tables and cheap non-matching uncomfortable chairs reminding me of sitting in a MacDonalds. After our first round... More

OMG first time back to the loft after its revamp. It's dire, cheap and tacky try too hard Mexican looking cafe bar. No impressive cocktails and over inflated prices. Where are the comfy sofas? I was so sad when I went in and saw that even the Oreo daquarai hadn't survived the revamp. I used to love this place for... More

A few friends and myself decided to go into the new look Loft. Booked a table of four for a Saturday evening. The new look was impressive and modern, but it looks a little "same" as other new bars, It's not unique, which is a shame. Another point; the finishing touches, holes in the ceiling.. Never a good thing? The... More

I always used to drop in here for its excellent value cocktails and cosy atmosphere. The revamp has totally ruined the place in my opinion. It just looks like any of a number of bars in the Mailbox. Further to this, the prices have rocketed. £7 per cocktail and no special offers at all. A very unimpressive cocktail at that.... More

This used to be my favourite place to visit when in Brum - I was rather fond of the opulent style. It was a bit different and cosy in there - the owners seemed willing to spend money on the venue, rather than just sucking money out of the community (see Missing bar opposite). Now we've lost the comfy seating,... More

The staff are friendly The background music was good Beers consumed were good Gin selection could be bigger with nicer mixers Cocktail in a freezer zippy bag was grim The revamp is very modern but a little to bright and open It's lost its cosy chill out feeling The revamp could of included the dated bathrooms Would return for a... If you are looking for you food to be late, burn and incomplete then you will enjoy a meal at the Loft. If you enjoy the management collecting your drink before you have finished it then you are in for a treat if you visit the Loft. To be honest this is a real shame as this was a good... More
