I attended a medieval banquet. I had never been to one before and so I thought for my daughters hen party it would be something to remember. We were invited to dress up appropriately, which of course we did. But I was pleased to see that you were not pushed into dressing up, as there were other parties who hadn't.... More

Definitely up market. Classic menu, presented beautifully and correctly. An experience for the pallet. The service is second to none. The entire venue is in keeping with the Abbey itself, authentic decor with an historical feel about it. Don't expect a huge meal with tuns of chips, it's more refined . actually I didn't notice if there were chips on... More

Went with family to celebrate a 65th wedding anniversary. First time I had been inside the impressive old building. Sat in a lovely conservatory, sun was shining, place was very busy, booking is essential. You can choose between two afternoon teas, one with sandwiches (vegetarian option) and cakes/puddings or one with meat/fish including 1/2 pint of beer. Each tea comes... More

Booked a table for three in the restaurant for an evening meal. Arrived a bit early so sat having a drink before the restaurant opened its doors promptly at 7;00. Were seated and handed menus and asked if we wanted to order drinks, which we did. An interesting menu, which is inclusive with some room deals, but as we were... More

I love going to coombe and have stayed in suites numerous times. On this occasion had a Sunday roast with parents and our children. A little disappointed, not sure if it was because they were busy but service and food a little below average. Waited over an hour for starters, you can imagine with 2 young hungry children, it was... Lovely afternoon tea here with my sister. Very tasty sandwiches. In my opinion the deserts were not to my fancy. I would of liked cakes instead of macaroon and caramel slice. Also more cream for the scones would be better too. Overall though i had a nice time and it was a good experience.

Stayed here a few years ago an decided to return. Sadly rooms need a refresh and food in the dining room is uninspiring and vastly over priced. My advice is save your money and go to a better restaurant. Best thing about stay was beautiful country park and staff all polite and well trained.

We went for Afternoon Tea in summer even though it was a Christmas present from our son. It was excellent in all respects. All the food was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient and the staff were very smart. We had no difficulty upgrading our voucher to include a glass of prosecco. The Earl Grey I had was the... More

Came for afternoon tea yesterday. Was a wonderful couple of hours. A beautiful hotel in lovely grounds -- very attentive staff serving very very nice food.
