My friend Stuart said "let's go to the George and Dragon at Houghton for supper". This brought back wonderful memories - I first visited the pub over thirty years ago. So off we went, and as it was a warm spring evening, headed for the terrace at the back. From the terrace the George and Dragon offered a truly fabulous... More

We had a good meal at the George and Dragon the service was good the wine wasn't the best but ok, we felt the food had been microwaved as it was really hot and bland. This is no gastro pub by any means but it serves good honest plain food!!

Had an excellent Saturday lunch here while midway through a walk from Amberley to Arundle. High quality food, great menu choices, and I had a lovely dressed crab with bread and salad. It's a beautiful pub with excellent staff, and the whole experience was welcoming and relaxed.

We came on a Saturday, pre-booked, which is just as well as a sign in the car park said they had no more spaces available for diners. The view from their terrace over a slight dip in the landscape to the fields and hills beyond is to die for, but the weather (and the booking) dictated that we ate inside.... More

Luckily we had booked a table as when we arrived there was a sign in the car park saying that the restaurant was full that evening. I'm not surprised. It was our first visit and we were happy with the choice of food and drink. We were fortunate enough to have a table with a view and all enjoyed our... More

We booked dinner at this pub, after a long absenc of many years. We weren't disappointed. The pub was full and therefore very busy, but we still received great service. The food was delicious and freshly cooked, with lovely homemade dressings. I couldn't manage a dessert but my partner ordered the Dark chocolate torte with rum and raisin ice cream,... More

We met with some friends for Sunday Lunch, expecting a good meal. The starters were OK and the two different roasts were OK, however the roasts were without lustre and tasted rather bland. The roast potatoes were good bur generally the whole meal was just about OK. We decided to not chance a pudding to avoid further disappointment! Not sure... More

Called in for lunch while passing through on way to Gatwick Airport - what a fantastic find! We ordered two of the largest ploughman's lunches we have ever seen - 3 large slices of cheese (all local), ham, Gala Pie - 2 slices, salad, chutney, a couple of chunks of fresh bread - if you order this you'd better be...
