Hearty plates of well prepared simple food. A starter would have been too much. Skate and Plaice were nicely grilled, mixed grills, lamb fillets and steak were served with a full complement of steamed vegetables, chunky chips and grilled mushrooms. Extremely courteous service from Joanne who met ever request with a smile.

We chose this pub while visiting the area as it was St Georges' Day and were not disappointed. We had a very cheerful greeting from the man behind the bar and then decided to take our drinks out to the garden to admire the view while making our choice from the menu. The food here is very good with large... More

As a Rugby Man i have had my share of pubs but this one is one of the best. We arrived for Dinner on Easter Sunday after a long trek on the South Downs and able to have great dinner and a good table. made feel welcome and able to sit down and relax. Thanks George & the Dragon

Party of 9, Easter Monday lunchtime. Can you cope? Certainly (booked in advance). Can we bring dog? Yes. Can we bring birthday cake (4 birthdays to celebrate including 2 children under 5)? Yes. Delightful pub, nestling in the South Downs. Rear garden, including raised area. Wonderful views of the Downs. Good food, good service, very pleasant and helpful staff. Highly... More

We popped into this pub by chance. What luck we did. We were spoilt for choice with regards to food. I personally went for the liver and bacon which was a delight and the ice cream was something else (in a good way) :)

This pub was one of the best we visited in England. Four of us arrived for dinner. Real warm authentic atmosphere. Food was wonderful. Grilled cod topped with tomato slices (so tasty) and home-baked beef pie (perfect). Washed down with reasonably priced chardonnay. This was a great evening. Thanks George & the Dragon.

This venue was mutually chosen to meet up with some friends, we tend to sample a different venue around the area each time. Very quiet is in this lovely rural pub for a Thursday night so lets hope it can survive. Very good service and food with a good choice all at reasonable prices.

The car park can get full quickly on high days and holidays so best then to arrive early. Our group of four were visiting on a sunny Thursday evening and no problem then. The ancient building is impressive, nice hanging baskets/flowers and there are splendid views of the South Downs from the pub garden. The interior is pleasant but no... More

As you enter the car park you immediately feel you have arrived in a good place! The period timber framed building suggests a warm and welcoming interior, which indeed it is, and the view is sensational, looking out over the Arun Valley. We were part of a classic car group and made up a large party which could have challenged... More
