I had lunch here a few weeks back, absolutely superb, exactly what I wanted. The menu looks great and I will certainly be back to try other options, either in the restaurant upstairs or the bar. Great character and good beer, not the cheapest but worth it in my view. Hope you cannot find it!

The bar lunches are as good as I have had anywhere and certainly better than most. A good choice of beers: my favourite is Ledsham Sessions - not too strong for lunchtime.

We were seated upstairs where the old lady took our drinks order. I asked what dark ales or stouts they had. She wasn't sure so off she went down stairs to ask. 2 min's later she was back and told me the name of a dark ale. So I asked for a pint, and a friend also asked for one.... More

We visited Chequers on a Thursday evening and wasn't surprised to see that it had quite a busy car park. Luckily as we ordered our first drink a table just inside the bar area on the left became available which was ideal for two. The curved edge table was very nice but it did make it slightly awkward to eat... More

We called for lunch today, a group of 8. We were made to feel so welcome. We mostly had sandwiches, but everything was lovely and the service was perfect. The fat chips and herb potatoes are amazing - how do they get them so soft in the middle and crisp on the outside?? Every time we have been here and... More

Hard to review as some parts of dinner were excellent and others inedible. The crab creme brûlée was disappointing. It tasted good, however interior was runny, not creamy as I would expect from the name. The venison was excellent as was the duck. The stir fry vegetables that were served with the duck were like eating mouthfuls of condensed soy... More

We diverted from the nearby A1 to meet friends for lunch here. Both the pub and the village of Ledsham with its lovely old church, justified the journey. Have a look on-line at the wide-ranging menu. We enjoyed a sandwich based lunch with some fabulous chips, accompanied by a great locally brewed beer. The cosy interior is what you would... More

Met up with an old school mate this afternoon who not seen for 31 years at this pub. What a place it is if you want some great lunch in a wonderful beer garden that is picture perfect and in the quiet countryside. The garden is beautiful, with lots of wildlife that shares its space with the customers and staff.... More

Just spent a relaxing summer's evening in the garden of this pub. I can recommend the food and the staff are always welcoming.
