Just outside of the main shopping area and therefore quiet during the normal busy period of lunch time on a Saturday. Beautiful old building with friendly hospitality and great food. We had the doorstop sandwiches made from very fresh bread and stacked with filling. Food came out quick too. Highly recommend it.

There are plenty of public houses in Salisbury, Wiltshire but his establishment was on our short list, having done a bit of pre-visit research. The pub is conveniently located in the city not too far from the impressive Cathedral. The pub is claimed to be 14th Century and I am sure it is but clearly there have been many changes... More

My husband and I were in Salisbury for work and went to The Cloisters with his coworkers as it came highly recommended. I enjoyed my beef and ale pie. It reminded me of beef stew with a flaky, pastry crust on top. My husband thought his fish and chips were ok, but we had better in London. Enjoyed the selection... More

We went to the Cloisters for sunday lunch with some friends. There is a nice atmosphere at this pub. The service and the food are excellent. This is top notch pub food and you pay accordingly. Would not hesitate to return.

We visited during the day on a weekend as tourists not from the area. The pub was very quiet for a Saturday and so you might expect the staff to be glad of 5 people buying drinks and possibly food. Sadly, the barman was quite abrupt when serving us all and continued to stare as we found seats in the... More

Went for lunch; pub has an unusual set up if compared to a typical open plan pub typically expected but welcoming. Nothing overly notable, food quality was okay, it was clean and staff were nice enough. Staff on the day were not overly competent or on top of their game. Our food was fine but overheard another table complaining their... More

We visited for lunch on a Monday, quite atmospheric and friendly place. I had a door stop sandwich, it did not disappoint! A real good chunk of bread not overly price and very tasty.

I've got to say the beer, although a tad expensive was really good. The service however was poor. Miserable old man who wasn't very happy to be serving and could barely articulate a sentence, a lot of agonising grunts. We felt like we were a hindrance to him. Cloisters please quality control your staff. We won't be visiting again.

Miserable barkeep was about as welcoming and friendly as a tumour. There was a 'locals only' atmosphere and, as a group of five friends ordering drinks, we were made to feel totally unwelcome. I wouldn't bother.
