The restaurant is located just outside of Amesbury and you will need to drive along small country roads to get there. Once you're close by it's easily spotted. The restaurant is fantastically decorated with pictures of history. The menu is written on chalkboards hung up on the walls and there is a large selection of local beers. I ordered the... More

We were 12 and booked in advance from the Christmas menu. The food was delicious, plentiful and hot. Service was faultless. Everyone was very impressed. The Cullen Skink soup was so tasty and came with a fresh roll, others had ham terrine or salmon and all present gave the nod of approval. Roast beef was melt in the mouth, as... More

Had heard a lot of good things about this pub, so I decided to give it a try whilst passing through. Very good quality meal in good surroundings with a good selection of real ales. Also dog friendly.

Visited with friends mid week for a very pleasant beer and a Malet Burger with Chorizo. Great atmosphere with very attentive staff.

The evening started well with a good gin and tonic and the decision that given the promising look of the pudding menu a starter would be just right in lieu of a main course. The pressed ham hock starter was really good - tasty and accompanied by good bread (toasted); certainly too big for a starter for me but perfect... More

There is a dearth of good inns just off the A303, but this one is well worth a visit. Found through the Good Pub Guide, whilst we were driving up from Exmoor.Very welcoming landlady, friendly atmosphere, well kept ale,and sensational starter of Crab Welsh (?) Rarebit. Only a brief visit, but we will be back.

Poor wheelchair access and regimented tables.service was good with a large selection of board menus I ordered a rare ribeye steak which was totally inedible due to being tough,I was informed that several other customers had complained and they will be changing their suppliers. Will not return.

Stopped here for lunch on a journey back home from Cornwall as it’s only a couple of miles off the A303. Found it through a Google search then cross referenced with Trip Advisor to find glowing reviews. I had Roasted Partridge on crushed new potatoes with black pudding and bacon crumb, plus carrots – all covered in a rich gravy... More

Have visited the Malet Arms on many occasions over the past 20 or so years since moving to Shipton Bellinger nearby. Today, my husband, our cocker spaniel Shadow and I decided to walk there from our village (takes about an hour and a half (probably longer if just strolling). Superb Sunday roast, beautifully cooked roast pork, a variety of vegetables... More

Cute pub in a nice place. Food good when we finally got it. Served by a bunch of kids who were far more interested in talking at the bar. Sad as would go back to the pub for the food but won't tolerate appalling service who have no idea.
