Really impressed with lunch here today. I went with a large group for Christmas lunch. All,of the meals came out together and were hot and well presented. As a coeliac I often miss out on some of the extras, not today! I had a beautiful lunch and finished with a gluten free mince pie and chocolate mint! Would highly recommend.

I love this pub, the warmth of an open fire, the ambiance of a proper English country pub set around the the Great Park and Royal Estate. We eat here fairly often and we are never dissapointed by the warm hospitality, the great service and very tasty food.

Brilliant staff brilliant food and brilliantly run. What else can I say about this establishment the food was out of this world and served in time by staff with a smile and staff who had passion. Please book before going as it gets really busy.

It's our third time eating at the Duke and we have never been disappointed. Disabled parking at the front, the parking gets crowded but you can park in the road. The pub is really cosy and very popular. All three of us chose the traditional Sunday lunch and it was great. It was busy, as always, and we were unable... More

Not the first time we have visited this pub for food, wine and a natter with work acquaintances. On arrival, I ordered a wine at the bar, asked for a receipt after not receiving one, and was told I couldn't have one as I'd paid cash and it had already been put through the till. Not a good start. Food... More

Have been to the Duke on many occasions including significant family birthdays and they always make it nice. Still a great pub but seems that food is just a little below what we have come to expect. Maybe the chef has changed. Would still recommmened

I'm coming to this place for about 3-4 years and after my recent visit I decided to share my experience. Unfortunately last 2 times I've been here it wasn't too good. Starter Chicken pate was good but the silly little toasts served with in are too small and too thin in my opinion. Main course I normally go for crispy... More

Both food and service are excellent. It helps that the Duke of Edinburgh has been looked after by the same people for many years

The Duke

Nick & Annie welcome you to the Duke of Edinburgh at Woodside, a traditional family run business. Here at the Duke of Edinburgh we pride ourselves in offering the highest quality of service in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We offer the very best in both a-la-Carte and Bar menu food, with Chef specials offered nightly. Sample our wonderful fayre and accompany your meal with choices of fine wines.

We are located just off the Windsor Road in the hamlet of Woodside, just half a mile from Ascot Racecourse. There is ample parking available, and we have a nice garden too.

The pub is over 200 years-old and has low beams, giving a cosy atmosphere. The pub was recently completely refurbished, during which time the restaurant was extended and new toilet facilities were installed.

There are two TVs in the lounge area which show the football or other sports events. As well as various beers and guest ales, there are numerous excellent wines & champagnes available.

Just along from the lounge bar area is the restaurant, with table sizes to fit all occasions (parties up to 18 catered for).

The Duke provides free WiFi access (high speed compu-fix system) for its patrons, and offers a smoking shelter with heaters, in addition to the spacious beer garden which also boasts a large avery sporting numerous types of budgerigars.

We do allow dogs in the bar and garden, but do bring a 'doggy bag' in case of an accident.
