From J Boy of Derby Had already eaten when I arrived here so can't comment on the food, but this is a beautiful old world pub with an amazing history.King Charles escaped this building after the final battle of Worcester. Beautifully decorated with an amazing fireplace, excellent choice of real ales with at least 10 on display. The staff were... More

Only been for a drink but love the atmosphere, very old pub, felt cosy. Had the king size pork scratching which come in a tankard. Defiantly will be returning!

Finally got around to eating here and so glad we did. The pies are amazing with a choice of different mash and peas. Great surrounding and a well priced pint. A new fave.

We go to the King Charles quite a lot, they serve great Pie minister pies which you can always guarantee will be good, along with ploughmans and sandwiches and a selection of bar snacks. The beer is always good, I am reliably informed by my husband, and they seem to have a good local selection. The building itself is very... More

Service good, food good, though I would recommend warm clothes if you sit upstairs by the window as we were rather chilly. I'd heard a lot about the award winning pie and mash, it was tasty but did appear to have been in a warmer for quite some time,. Saying that I would give it another chance.

We were able to book a table for Mother's Day and the service and food was great. A few items were off the menu as they were out of beef but the pies were awesome! And a big selection of types of mash. Decent food and less than £10 a head
