We had booked to dine at the Garden Cantonese Restaurant last weekend with family. When we arrived at 7.30pm the restaurant was busy but we were immediately made to feel very welcome and shown to the sitting area with menus before being taken to our table. The restaurant is owned and run by a lovely family who have owned the... More

I'm 42 years old and I was 32 years old when I last went to the Garden - where I had a lovely time and a lovely meal on my 32nd birthday with my girlfriends. I am kicking myself for leaving it so long between visits as now I have re-found the Garden Cantonese, it is closing down due to... More

Specified as a gluten free restaurant by the Celiac society, I was disappointed by the limited choice of gluten free meals. Food was lovely but the drinks are tiny and VERY pricey! The restaurant was very cold when I visited (afternoon) and we had to keep our coats on all through the meal.

We regularly get takeaways from here and are always impressed by the good friendly service and the good food. The only downside is that it is a little pricey. We do enjoy coming here and will continue to do so.

Great food and well worth a visit. The sizzling steak Cantonese style was yum. Staff very friendly and welcoming. If we are in the area again we will certainly go back!

The Garden Hotel & Cantonese Restaurant has been welcoming discerning diners to Bangor for 32 years and remains a heavenly haven of culinary excellence.Proprietor Andrew Lui established the Garden Hotel & Cantonese Restaurant in 1981 following a chemical engineering degree and career, and is now a leading authority on Cantonese cooking. Working together with wife and Head Chef, Alice Lui who trained in Hong Kong and China. The restaurant is open seven days a week with a comprehensive a la carte menu from 2.00pm to 09.30pm. “There are three basic principles that I believe are essential for success,” Andrew adds.“The first is good cuisine; the second is good service and thirdly, a good environment. All our dishes are freshly prepared and cooked with the finest ingredients. The Garden Cantonese Restaurant goes a little step further by offering dishes to suit vegans, lacto vegetarians, ovo-lacto vegetarians and customers with nut, dairy or gluten allergies. We also understand the importance of healthy eating and use only the healthiest of oils and lean produce in our cuisine.
