I tried to book a table online but unfortunately the manager rang to say they were full. A short while later he rang back to say they'd had a cancellation so could now fit us in.
The restaurant was busy with a nice ambience as we entered. We hadn't realised it was BYOB so hubby popped to local off licence whilst I settled our 2 children at the table.
Ordered drinks and food straight away. Popadoms and pickle tray to start, I added onion bhaji to the order but it was late arrriving so the waiter kindly apologised and said it was on the house! They were huge, not greasy at all and very delicious. Our mains were King prawn Shashlik which was incredible, Murghi Marsala (chicken and lamb mince medium dish) soo tasty, mixed tandori for children to share was plentiful. Mushroom pilau, saag aloo and peshwari naan were all so fresh and really good sizes. EOTHO gov scheme meant the bill was half price meaning we paid less than £35.
Overall.we were delighted with the meal and we will definitely be returning. The staff were brilliamt, very welcoming and friendly, very good with our 2 children. Thank you and well done.

We had a really good meal at Caernarfon Tandoori. We made the most of the Government scheme to save 50% Mon - Weds whilst staying locally. The meal was very good, they catered for my wife’s mild nut allergy and had precautions in place for Covid, considering this was a restaurant we hadn’t visited before we felt reasonably safe. It was busy though so booking ahead essential.

We really enjoyed the meal it was well cooked very tasty with good portions. The lime pickle on the pickle tray is fierce well it is according to my wife I didn't try it. My only slight criticism is that although very flavoursome the mango chutney was a little thin. The naan bread was really nice and well cooked. The sauce on the chicken pasanda was thick creamy and smooth. The meat in both our dishes was tender and moist.
The restaurant is not licensed to sell alcohol not by accident but because the proprietor wants it that way (I asked him) so if you want it take your own. They do have a selection of soft drinks and a 0 alcohol Cobra lager. However if you forget or want to make it easy there's a bargain booze off licence just down the road which offers good value. They DO NOT charge corkage and even provide glasses. I think this idea makes it really a good value restaurant and means you can drink whatever is your personal favourite.

Not one to normally put businesses down and will only tend to write reviews where credit is due. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my visit here on Saturday night.
I phoned up to order a takeaway for 6 people, was told that it would take no more than 30 minutes. I arrived on times and was asked to sit down to wait for the food. Whilst I was there I could hear nothing but a crowd of people sitting on one of the tables doing nothing but swearing loudly for all to hear. I saw several tables looking towards the rowdy crowd but not once did the staff ask them to quieten down/stop swearing. Not a nice environment.
I was then asked to pay for the meal, which was around 15 mins after arriving but told the card machine wasn’t working and hadn’t been all day. I was asked to go and collect cash which I could’ve been told on the phone/on arrival. I arrived back having been soaked by the rain. A member of staff informed me “sorry about the inconvenience caused, I would offer you some money back but the ‘boss man’ isn’t here sorry”.... an hour after making the call, I finally received my food and carefully took it home...
On arrival back home, I opened the popadoms to see it all crumbled inside the bags into very tiny pieces which can be seen from the photos. The rice pots were only half filled as well. Luckily the chicken tikka was nice or otherwise I would’ve travelled back 20 minutes, taken it all back and would’ve asked for my £73 refund. Will not be returning here in a hurry! Average at best.

I am so disappointed with the service we received tonight. We pre ordered at 5pm for collection at 7:30pm and were waiting for over half an hour for our food - the place was absolutely carnage. There was no cheese on the cheese & garlic naan bread, no chilli in the chilli korma, half of our meals were half portions and the butter chicken was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse they didn’t even bother to put a couple of poppadoms in our order to say sorry, how cheap!! We will absolutely not be going again.

After the Christmas period we were all keen to have a nice quiet family meal before we went back to work. We were looked after as soon as we walked in, with the staff happy to answer our questions about the menu. The three of us opted for different dishes (Naga Curry, Korai and a Tikka Massala), with rice and naan. All 3 were really nice with fresh tasting flavours from the aromatic spices.
The food at Caernarfon Tandoori is never oily, rather clean flavours with bright colours. The Naans are really good.
Staff are always helpful, with some of the younger staff also able to speak Welsh (tri-lingual!), excellent.
Top marks for all at Caernarfon Tandoori, well worth a visit

As a family of four, we stayed in Caernarfon and found that being able to book a table at a restaurant anywhere in the town was rare as hens teeth. Very frustrating. However, booking a table at the CT using the reservation button on their website couldn't have been easier. Throughout our vist the management and staff were very friendly, helpful and always adhered to the protection measures put in place for COVID. My son is a fussy eater and tailoring a meal to suit him was no bother at all. No alcohol served but this is well advertised and you can take your own. A large bottle of what to us seemed like tap water for £2.95 felt excessive. The food was served quickly. It was hot and every dish was delicious. Da iawn CT. We will definitely visit you again and highly recommend 😁👍

Fantastic little place, lovely inside, food was amazing and staff were extremely nice and could not do enough for you. We ordered a takeaway with them via the app, due to the food being a little late they threw in two bottles of Coca Cola. They kept me informed of how long it would be and didn’t just leave me sitting there like every other takeaway restaurant I’ve been to.
We will certainly recommend this lovely little place to our friends and family who will be holidaying regularly in the area.

First time in Caernarfon and after visiting the falls with kids and family wanted a wholesome full meal. Rang up a number of local restaurants specifically looking for a halal restaurant. One confirmed they were half halal and one said they are not. Booking made for 6.30pm
The restaurant is located well within the centre and only minutes from the castle. The girl on reception was lovely and polite and it looked like a family business as her brother and dad worked there. We asked for a chicken curry but made sure we asked for it "asian style" and it was. It was very flavoursome and ticked all the boxes. The poppadoms were yummy and the chutneys were plenty.
The naans for good in size and although initially I thought I would need more they were very large.
My only feedback was there were alot of large onions in the curry and chutneys. I would recommend cutting them smaller.
Deffo recommend this to all and it was deffo halal.

We had a nice take away curry here. It worked out about £15 per person for a full meal with rice and nanns. Potion sizes were good and we were left feeling full, dishes were also tasty.

We have visited caernarfon tandoori twice now, 1st time during their opening week, and most recently for new years eve.
Both times we have been welcomed by friendly staff in welsh, and both times have been flexible to try and fit us in during busy periods.
The food is brilliant, we have gone for the chefs recommendations both times, and the serving is generous. Curries are full of flavour and clearly freshly prepared, best indian cusine experience in north wales, we'll most definitely be returning

Absolutely ruined our dads 60th birthday meal on our family trip to Caernarfon. I booked the table on the 28th June for the meal on the 21st August as I know this restaurant gets busy (we visited last year) and I specifically asked for a table for 7 people and a high chair for 6:30pm as we have two children with us. The restaurant conformed the booking almost immediately on Facebook messenger. When we arrived at 6:30 we were told that there was no booking and no room in the restaurant at all and were turned away until I produced my confirmation of the booking. The rude manager then hastily walked us through to A table for 8 at the back of the restaurant squished between the swinging kitchen door and the toilets. We were then told that there were no high chairs available for our 20month old child, when I explained that I had specified this on the booking I was told that another large group had arrived just before us who had taken all of the high chairs. We then waited over an hour for some to finally come and take our order after chasing them down, and then waited another hour for the food whilst wrestling a child that needed to be in a high chair. It was 8:30pm by the time the food came and we all felt stressed as all we could see was the kitchen door swinging open in to us every two mins as takeaway orders were flying out of the door. This place has really gone down the pan, we were treated with no respect and Another group who hadn't booked clearly came in and took our booked table and high chair. I would not recommend this place anymore as the service is so poor.

Everyone has bad days and deserves another chance. The first meals we had here soon after they opened were good, although more expensive than other local Indian Restaurants. However, recently we’ve had a few disappointing take away meals so we’ll be giving Caernarfon Tandoori a miss for a while. I ordered a Chicken Tikka main meal last time which came without salad, and despite asking for salad and mint sauce when ordering this time, it was not included. So instead of a meal, it was just a chicken on a plate which was tasty if you like chicken on a plate and the taste of salty paste, I don’t. Marinade too strong maybe? All the meat dishes were far too salty. Most of the food was thrown away unfortunately. Cash only was also a bit annoying.

Had a great evening here on 15 August as staying in the area and this place seemed to have good reviews. All had starters which were good and we all chose from the chef specials I think.. my wife enquired about a Prawn dish as you so often get shrimp which she really enjoyed and I have the Chicken Tikka Naga which was very good. Daughter something with Indian cheese that she liked and lad had a milder chicken tikka dish. We have lived in Birmingham so we know what a curry should be like and this place ticked all the boxes. Live in Chester now and will definitely return to this curry house when in the area. Also have to say staff all had masks and visors which is great as many places don't really bother with the full rig and it is important to protect your customers. Thanks again for a good curry - topped off a great day out in Snowdonia on my birthday nicely!

After reading reviews we were looking forward to our visit. What a disappointment! On arrival the the manager(?owner) was sullen and unwelcoming. The whole atmosphere of the place was unfriendly. The one exception was a young waiter who was really trying his best. The chicken Rogan josh was completely bland and a vegetable balti should have been renamed as cabbage baltl, although there wasn't much balti about it either. Couldn't wait to get out. No idea why it gets good reviews. Won't be back. It gets 2 stars only because it was clean and the young waiter was good.
