This large pub is a a rather off the beaten track location and has seen better days. The owner was freindly and helpful. Food as great. Not very busy when I visited ( I was the only customer ) Dont be put off by the rather run down exterior. This place has a good reputation and is reputed to be... More

We celebrated our baby granddaughters Christening at this family run pub yesterday and what an amazing time we had. We decided after the service in Blaenavon we would all have Easter Sunday Lunch. Our party was 26 including 6 children & 2 vegetarians. Everything was pre booked and served to the tables hot and timely without a fuss. The portion... More

My wife and I have had Sunday Lunch in numerous places in the surrounding area, and found this Inn to be the BEST... 10 out of 10. A three course meal (four course if you count the tea and biscuits) all for a TENNER. The food is superb. The staff cannot do enough for you. What a fantastic place.

Been past a couple of times, and were prompted to try it after good recommendation from a family friend. We arrived early so were the first customers there, but it soon got busier. The Sunday lunch is a set menu, but the meal was excellent. We rarely have starters, but the vegetable soup was delicious. For the main course, it... More

What a fantastic little inn... Hidden away on the mountain we were taken to this little treasure by friends we were visiting.. The car park was full which is an obvious sign of a good place.. On entering it was like stepping back in time to an old style pub.. This is not a negative it was so nice to... More

The best steaks around. The bar is closed but if you're not eating, you can go in and watch a bit of TV by invitation. Landlord is super friendly.

No nonsense approach, I camped and dined at the race-horse on the evening of the review left by sarahw2590. I must say the use of these younge ladies language, was appalling and could be heard from the lounge and they were seated in the bar. A younge French family sat at the adjacent table, the parents covered the children's ears,... More

Fawlty towers experience but the food is exceptional, home cooked and excellent value. Tried many local establishments for Sunday lunch before work and this is by far the best. Some could take offence to the proprietor when booking via telephone but he is very nice when you get there albeit not that cheerful. You have to be there 12.45 to... More
