Visited twice that day and the staff and the food is excellent. Highly recommended. Always go to the same place and always get a warm welcome.

I would disregard previous review, we as a family visit The Trading Post weekly and have been in many times when customers have brought their dogs in and to my knowledge nobody has complained infact people seem to like it and The Trading Post has become known as 'dog friendly'. The service from the staff is always first class, the... More

I only have one positive comment here, and that was my Welsh Rarebit was delicious; my other comments are, unfortunately, negative. First of all we waited 20 minutes to have our order take. Yes, the restaurant was reasonably busy, but others seated later than us were served first so the attention of the staff needs some work. Secondly, my husband... More

The food is always freshly prepared and is lovely. Time and care is taken to get the order right for you and for those of you who are watching their weight or other reasons butter is an added extra, a rare thing. The breakfasts are good value and really tasty and the specials selection is varied and appealing. Las time... More

Visited on a one off trip to Abergavenny. The cafe is in a beautiful historic building which is explained in the menu. My phone was dead and we sat at a table near an electrical socket. The waitress said I could charge my phone and gave my son and I time to choose. We had a jacket potato and a... More

Visited with my wife, sister in law and my little boy. The food was promptly served and absolutely wonderful. The staff were very friendly and the surroundings perfect. A lovely, delightful little establishment.

First time to the town so very happy to have found this lovely place for late breakfast. Enjoyed reading the historical information found in the menu. Had the half breakfast served with tea or coffee and toast of my choice! Just the right size to still be able to enjoy a mooch around the town. Served by Nikkie who was... More

Nice atmosphere and decor. Plain wood. Plenty of space. Very good selection of teas and coffee and lots of hot and cold snacks. Friendly staff and decent prices.

We visited Abergavenny whilst on holiday a few miles away. It was a lovely day and we had our dog with us so we're looking for a place with outside seating. We noticed a dog water bowl outside so decided this was the place for us. My husband went inside to order and a lovely young lady brought our drinks... More
