Lovely restaurant, modern and friendly staff. Food was served really quickly and well presented. We had battered haddock which was greasy. Onion rings were raw and chunky chips were also under cooked. Potentially lovely place to come for lunch if the food is prepared properly

I ordered the beetroot and goats cheese gnocchi as I’m vegetarian and it sounded tasty. When it came it was dry gnocchi on salad leaves with goats’ cheese on top. As far as I’m concerned gnocchi is a potato dumpling which is served in some...More

Presentation was excellent but food was very average. Staff tried to rush us along to get out of the restaurant which is very annoying.

Far better than expected, to be honest. Good, traditional cooking with flashes of innovation and stylr. I look forward to going back.

We were surprised to find that there really are not any restaurants in Brecon town centre. Pubs, curry houses, chippies and Chinese, yes. Restaurants no. So we were relieved to find the Castle and managed to get a booking - not straightforward on a Friday...More

Dined here on Sunday evening, Seat by the window with views over the Beacons. I had the lamb pie and my partner had duck, both were delicious. I was so full after the pie that I could not manage dessert but my partner had chocolate...More

Had dinner here with two friends recently, oldie world feel about the hotel, resturant a bit more modern, nice outside terrace area overlooking Brecon. I had lemon sole which was over cooked for my liking and therefore very difficult to fillet. Probably wouldn't return on...More

Welcomed warmly and service was first class. Food was excellent. We both had the pulled lamb, delicious with a great choice of vegetables. Would certainly return.

An unplanned early evening dinner at the Brecon Castle Hotel and what a delightful surprise. Spotlessly clean restaurant, a very good and sensibly priced menu, good quality food, generous portions, well cooked and presented backed up by very discreet service from Dominic.

We have always 3 real ales available. Bass is our house ale and the other 2 keep changing regularly. At the moment we have Butty Bach and London Pride. Thanks for your interest.
