This is a decent pub with a good fire. Nothing particularly special though. Why do Belfast pubs serve beer ice cold? Michael,Nottingham.

A proper bar. The bartender was friendly and we enjoyed the crowd. The beer selection is pretty good. We'd return.

None of our city centre bars reach the standard of the Old Kitchen Bar, but at least the Hewitt makes an effort to serve decent lunchtime food. The drink is also decent, if underwhelming and sometimes a good ale makes it on to the roster....More

Good, well maintained pub in the Cathedral Quarter. Good range of real ale and local beer as well as all the usual suspects. Live music on when we were there (about 9pm on a Friday).

Third stop on our beer trip, also in the beer guide. I had a bottle of Foxes Rock stout which was excellent. My boyfriend was very indecisive and the bat staff very kindly let him try several of the beers on tap before deciding on...More

We visited The John Hewitt last Saturday evening, about 10pm. The bar was busy, with a nice atmosphere. We only stayed for one drink (before moving onto another nearby pub). Good service, prices and selection of drinks - we'd recommend this pub.
