Because my husband has been very ill and is on a very limited diet we had been wandering around Belfast looking for a lunch he could eat. Delighted we chose the John Hewitt as the atmosphere was lovely and very relaxed. Excellent service very tasty food and we did not need much tea. Food is fairly traditional Irish pub food... More

A quiet, laidback venue with good beer and music. Not particularly bright or stylish, but enjoyable Will return.

We recently visited the pub to take a look at the International Brigades plaque which is on the back wall. We stayed for an excellent pint and were impressed with the friendly staff and good atmosphere. There are lots of other points of interest around the walls to look at. All in all, well worth a visit!

An amazing bar, great customers and bar staff. Well worth a visit if you're in Belfast- just off Cathedral Quarter, don't be put off by the surroundings.

When I stay overnight in town I always visit this pub. Have never eaten here but the music is great on a Thursday night and there is a nice mix of patrons who are all friendly. Well worth a visit.

This is not the sort of place you want go to go if you want to feel relaxed and safe. The door staff or 'bouncers ' will throw you out if you as much as look at them the wrong way. There are much better places to go in Belfast.
