Visited as a group of 10 last week. Service was friendly and food was very tasty! Restaurant was busy but food was served in good time and was very tasty! One of ballyhacks many great eateries!

Large party of us attended for a birthday in January 2017. Food was very nice - quirky wee lights to read the menu...Didn't really get this as nearly all of them didn't work! Anyway, the food was lovely. The drinks are a wee bit pricey but the ambiance is great and one of our party said that it's very consistent.... More

I hope you're not a stranger too :) Thanks for your positive comments about our food, service and ambience. Our drinks are priced in accordance with industry standard, with craft beer starting at £2.75 and house wines at £4.75 per glass or £18 per bottle. Keep an eye out for our specials also! Sunday evening meal Great atmosphere and service with a smile. Smashing starters that were very tasty such as duck ravioli, sour dough with oils and tapenade. I had a lovely tagliatelle carbonara. The wine was excellent and we had a New Zealand Albariño and a deep valpolicella. A great meal and very suitable for families with small children

Visited on the Saturday before valentines and was pleased we didn't have to have a special menu. We were able to choose from all the great things on the menu. Food was fresh and tasty and potion sizes allowed for a 3 course meal. Especially enjoyed the white bait starter and delicious desserts.

My husband and I fancied a nice meal a bottle of wine somewhere quiet and local. We called in, and were shown to a window seat. It was busy but not packed. Waitress very attentive, service excellent. Food simple but really good. Would recommend.

Visited this restaurant for the first time and have to say I love the style and stripped back decor; very cool and relaxed. The house wine is lovely and the prices are reasonable. We started with the breads, oil and tapenade. I asked the girl to add some parma ham which they were happy to do with a small surcharge... More

A friend recently said that Il Pirata can either be superb, or pretty average to awful. We've been coming for a few years and this mirrors our own experiences. We visited about 4 weeks ago and it was great - a superb winter night's menu, full of Italian inspired comfort food, worthy of a 4.5 rating. Last week's return was a real... More

Thanks so much for your feedback from your recent visits to Il Pirata. Your comments about our great atmosphere, value and excellent service are all very much appreciated. We have recently changed the menu as we do regularly ensuring ingredients used are in season, and it sounds like your dish of choice this occasion did not appeal, although thankfully our... More

Service 5 star and food even better. We each had a cocktail and shared the small plates to start, all of which were delicious! Being a fan of its sister restaurant, Coppi they are like twins now. Both great!
