After searching the city all evening for a place to eat (most places had closed down their kitchens), The Morning Star took us in, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The waiters were great (and very cute, might I add), and they served the best Leek and Potato soup on my whole trip! I can't remember which... More

We weren't tourists but were made to feel just as welcome and special ! Whilst entertaining two friends who were visiting from Ballymena, we decided - on the spur of the moment - to visit the Morning Star ( a bar I hadn't been in for far too long). We were just in the door when the wonderful Jinny (resplendent... More

Husband had 6oz steak which he enjoyed. I had chicken goujons. Nice little pots of sauce and dressings to accompany meals. Good atmosphere with horse racing on the screens.

Very small bar, but clean tidy and very friendly. We even got a tip for the grand national from the barman....and it came second. Don't miss this one

Hi Gary, Thanks for your review. Our staff are professional and should not face abuse from customers. You were informed that so long as you were with the party causing trouble you would not be served. More

Established in 1810, one of Belfast,s oldest pubs, it has 2 floors, my review is based on the downstairs bar, I have heard over the years so many wonderful things about the food in this pub. So I decided to have lunch. I'm sorry to say it was a huge disappointment, there was a bamburee beside the bar, which basically... More

The Morning Star dates back to 1810 as a public house, but the building was here well before that! The entries were, and still are, the heartbeat of old Belfast.

Located in an old romantic entry running between Ann Street + High Street, in the heart of Belfast City Centre. The Morning Star is easily identified by the superb Victorian sign hanging from a grandly exuberant iron bracket jutting out from the corner of the bar, one of the finest examples of its type around.

We source all our beef, chicken, lamb and pork locally and most off our family farm. We serve award winning food in our restaurant and bar Monday to Sunday, with a focus on simplicity and promoting local produce.

Our bars stock the best in spirits and we pride ourselves on our vast whiskey range. We also have local and international craft beers on tap along with the likes of the black stuff (guinness).
