We went here on a recommendation from one of our group and after their rave reviews it was quite disappointing. The food was nothing special but everything tasted nice. We were in a large group so the restaurant just decided to bring a selection of dishes out. Which was fine but probably would have preferred some say in the menu.... More

The fact that people can bring their own booze makes this place different. I think people are so pissed that nobody realizes when they got ripped off for bad food and high prices.

After hearing a lot of good things about Josephine's, I was excited to visit and try some authentic tapas in the heart of Aberdeen. Unfortunately, I left rather disappointed and still hungry. I think the food was okay, but the poor service and lack of table space made the whole experience unenjoyable and I therefore could not appreciate the food.... More

Hate giving bad reviews but unfortunately was pretty disappointed with Josephine's. Ate here as part of a large group and I understood the deal was 3 courses of my choice (tapas) for £26.50, including garlic bread and a choice of dessert too. We didn't get to choose! Instead plate upon plate was brought out but with items I would not... More

Amazing party atmosphere with delicious tapas an absolute hidden gem in Aberdeen. Used to do pizza which they no longer do which is a shame. Definitely book as gets really busy. The food here is really nice however staff can get a little grumpy and will throw you out very promptly after closing time.

Most of the food was overdone, not much variety, pitta bread instead of bread and it just tasted of cheap oil, poor choice of deserts, afraid we wont be going back

With some of the recent reviews I almost cancelled my booking for tonight. So glad that I didint! The waitress was great when arrived running us through the new menu and prices for the weekend. We chose 3 tapas each as she recommended and we weren't disappointed. The Basque chicken was fantastic as was the chorizo and chicken paella. A... More

I've been a firm supporter of Josephines for many years and a regular, although visits have decreased with becoming a father. Vikksap reviewed on 12 Feb and unfortunately I was part of the group that needed her table which forced her to be ejected for overrunning her time slot. Guests need to appreciate that a booking is a booking and... More

If I ran an eating establishment I would be so pleased that people trusted me to feed them and give them a quality dining experience, sadly this notion is lost on a lot of people in this trade. For my wife’s birthday my daughter booked a table for eight people well in advance of our visit on Saturday night. That’s... More

The biggest upside to Josephine is the BYOB policy, which doesn't say much about the rest of the restaurant. We have eaten at this establishment multiple times over the years, and although the service remains quite friendly, the food quality seems to have gone down. Some of the tapas are quite greasy and the nice garlic baguette has been replaced... More
