I had been to a meeting and done some shopping and went back to the hotel to lie down for 10 minutes, 3 hours later I woke up and being a Friday restaurant after restaurant were fully booked until I found Aperitivo had a few empty tables so I wouldn't starve that night. The welcome was warm and friendly and I was shown to a table. The service was perfect and friendly without being intrusive. The menu was varied and the food was delicious. While I was eating I saw the desserts going to different tables which posed a problem, which one do I have. When the dessert menu came I solved the problem by ordering the first item which does mean that every visit to Aberdeen I will happily visit again and and work my way down the dessert menu as well as working my way down the main course menu.

Visited Alfresco one Friday for lunch with my wife on the back of a recommendation from a work colleague, I was pleasantly surprised how nice the restaurant is, the quality of food served and how busy it was for a lunchtime sitting. We both chose food from the Lunch time Specials menu, ample options, good portion size and great value for the money. The waiting staff were very polite and attentive, this is a bit of a find for us and would highly recommend to family and friends.

Two of us came here at the weekend in evening, and were greeted and seated in the lovely and authentic restaurant. Had bruschetta which was faultless and a generous portion. Then, had monkfish pasta for main. Monkfish was nice and prawns seemed surprisingly fresh (most restaurants use frozen), which I deduced from the flakiness of the flesh. Would improve with more sauce but perhaps that’s just personal preference. Overall, was a fantastic experience. If I was to sum it up in one word, I’d use ‘Professional’. Very reasonably priced, especially for quality. I beg people to try places like this out rather than flocking to the inferior chain restaurants. Will definitely be back

This was my first visit to Al Fresco and so my partner and I took the opportunity to visit during Aberdeen Restaurant Week, which involved a three-course set menu for £25. It is worth noting that throughout our experience, the service was very good. All of the staff members we encountered were attentive and polite. However, the inconsistency with the food is what has resulted in the rating. The meal started on a high and the starters were delicious. We opted for the arancini balls and the bruschettone (which was a take on classic bruschetta and included mozzarella and parma ham). We were very much looking forward to the rest of the meal, as the starters set the standard high. However, when the main courses arrived we were disappointed. I had the salmon risotto, which was still swimming in the stock it was cooked it. The taste was fine, but not anything I couldn't have made at home myself. My partner had the pork fillet and porcini mushroom dish and, whilst the sauce was nice, the pork was overcooked. For dessert, we opted for the tiramisu and profiteroles. We would have liked to try the sticky toffee pudding, although this had ran out by the time we got to ordering. The tiramisu was just ok. It lacked any sweetness and just tasted of alcohol and cream. The profiteroles were nice, but certainly not up to the standard of the fantastic starters. Another point I think is worth mentioning is the level of cleanliness in both toilets (my partner made a point of mentioning it to me when he visited the gents). It is quite clear that these toilets do not get monitored and cleaned through the night. They were reminisent of a toilet in a nightclub at 2am. There was paper towels all over the floor, the soap dispensers were empty, water all over the sinks and it just did not feel clean. This is something that really needs to be addressed, especially in the world we are living in now! While I love supporting local business, I wouldn't be rushing back to this restaurant. I would like to give it another chance in the future, where hopefully improvements are made to the food, as it is clear that the kitchen staff are capable of making great tasting food (demonstrated by the starters).

What a superb evening we had. It was my sons 25th birthday and the evening was just excellent . We had nibbles of bread with balsamic, olive oil some of the most amazing olives I’ve had. The 3 carnivores all had super meals and as the lone veggie they made the starter risotto balls into a main for me. Sublime is the best description and I just had a tiny space left for a dessert (why I opted for a starter…). The black cherries and i ice cream was a very nice finish. To top it off we could not turn down Expresso Martinis and Limoncellos. Lovely meal, great company and definitely worthy of a visit. Many thanks to Michael, Lene and team.

I have been her on several occasions and the food has always been excellent so is the service and the prices are very reasonable. I really do enjoy dining there, sometimes I just go on my own and I am always made to feel really welcome. Lovely surroundings, food and service.

This restaurant is by far the best in Aberdeen at the moment. My wife and I were invited to go there by my youngest daughter who has used it many times. The ambience is second to none. The minute you walk in you know you are somewhere special. The attentiveness of the waiters and their knowledge of the individual courses was admirable and they were obviously very proud to be working there. Service was quick but we enjoyed ourselves so much we were there for three hours! Our bill for a bottlle of white and four draught Italian beers threee main courses and two desserts came to £120. We got a free drink after we paid the bill. Lovely experience. We will definitely be back

This was our first time since reopening as Al Fresco, out with three friends and we all had the set menu which was lovely and great value. I had the chicken and it was full of flavour and vegetables cooked to perfection. A really relaxing afternoon with good food, company and excellent service. We're already booking our next lunch.

Wow what a hidden gem this place is, I can't believe I've never been. We were in today with a party of 22 celebrating my mum's 60th birthday. The staff dealt with this size of booking effortlessly. The food all arrived really quickly and tasted lovely. The complimentary bread was absolutely delicious as well I could have eaten the whole loaf! We ate off the set menu and there was so much choice and it was so reasonably priced. I will definitely be recommending to friends and family and will be back soon!

The food here is wonderful and there are a lot of different options depending on what you feel in the mood for. Our children loved it as well. Each of the servers were incredibly helpful and kind. Unfortunately, we chose a different Italian restaurant to eat at the second night in Aberdeen and Apertivo was far better in service, food quality and price. We all had different dishes and we loved them all. We would definitely eat here again!

We have spent many evenings here - originally as Aperitivo and more recently as Al Fresco. It’s great to have this excellent restaurant back on the Aberdeen scene again with quite a few subtle changes but just as wonderful as it used to be. The new decor is a welcome improvement and the foliage, trees and lighting represent the name change as you feel you could be eating outdoors. The food is consistently top class, tonight’s special (tuna with saffron risotto) was so tasty. But it’s also the friendly service and cosy atmosphere that brings us back again and again. Looking forward to many more great evenings here - well done Michal and the Al Fresco team 👍

My boyfriend and I visited for an early birthday meal for the both of us. I had prawns for a starter which were nice. For our mains we chose 2 different specials and while they were nice we didn't think they were anything outstanding. We shared an ice cream dessert which was good. While the evening was good I don't think I would return and probably wouldn't recommend it. It is definitely not terrible but I just feel for what we paid compared to other restaurants it wasn't that great.

A wee while since last in but as usual this restaurant never fails to deliver. My friends and I visited at lunchtime and opted for the lunchtime menu, which at under £17 for 3 courses is excellent value and has a fair selection of dishes. Despite being very busy, service was quick, efficient and friendly. They don't insult you with portion size and quality. The pork dish was cooked perfectly and tasty. Homemade Tiramisu is a great alternative to the usual frozen options you get in most restaurants. Our wine was a light fruity Italian red and probably cost about the average at today's prices. All in all, it was a very enjoyable lunch.

We were given a voucher for this restaurant in April 2022 and since then it has become a firm favourite of ours. Tonight was our 6th visit there & we really appreciated the warm welcome, consistently excellent food and attentive but non intrusive service. As an elderly couple we find the lunch/pre theatre menu portions are just right for us. Never have we been disappointed by the quality of the meals or the service. We will be back asap!

We ate here on Saturday evening (4 covers) and as soon as we entered the restaurant we felt that 'buzz' that all good restaurants have. The atmosphere was excellent. Between both couples we ordered a wide variety of the menu and not one dish disappointed. Each course was served by attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly staff. As others have said, the restaurant is now called Al Fresco's....look it up and book. You will not be disappointed.
