What an amazing pub we are staying in the hotel and either visiting on a Saturday night or Monday lunch the same warm welcome awaits you. Open coal fire harbour views excellent prices and delicious food. Love love love.

Visit this bar every Saturday and have to say that the barmaid Margaret is very pleasant and helpful and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome when you go in. It is definitely a great place to enjoy an afternoon drink and food is very enjoyable aswell.

A nice "local color" place where we spent a rainy afternoon, having some good pub food and a few pints.

My husband and I popped in here after our boat tour looking for a place to eat lunch. Although there were tables available we chose to sit at the bar. The bartender was definitely a seasoned professional and provided excellent service. During our two week stay in Scotland we found restaurant service to be lacking at most places, so this... More

Campbeltown is a small burg of 3,000 people — barely more than a village — but it's loaded with more than the expected number of churches and pubs. One night in August 2016 my golfing buddy and I rolled into what we were told is the best pub of them all, the Black Sheep Pub at the Royal Hotel. We... More

After reading other reviews we were looking forward to our lunchtime visit. We must have come on a bad day! One poor person serving at the bar and food. She did not greet us and appeared in a bad mood. My wife's soup was greasy and although her sandwich was piled high with beef it was almost inedible. My panini... More
