Fabulous home cooked meal with friendly staff in small restaurant cafe . Deserved all the plaudits from previous reviews . We had mushroom soup/steak /salmon and fish pie and all were excellent . Bought home made cakes to go as we were in a rush...for a late ferry but enjoyed them with a coffee at our airbnb later .More

Visited Inveraray many times and so annoyed we haven't been here before now. Forget the bigger establishments and you'll be glad you did, this wee gem of a place offers a great selective menu and the food/portion size is amazing, good quality ingredients, fantastic customer...service, value for money, most definitely recommend.More

We visited 3 times in 1 week and only because we ate in twice and others wanted to try elsewhere. Some of us would have eaten here every night! We couldn't fault it. Brilliant, friendly front of house service by Mrs Monroe and Kathryn (hope...I've spelt that right).🙂 Every meal and every course was lovely. I had the chocolate tarte everytime and even got Kathryn to give me her recipe 😛 A lovely little family run restaurant well worth a visit😁 Ps the fish and chips from the chippy are far better than from the Samphire and the Samphire platter is not worth the cost.More

Excellent service and lots of choice. We opted for fish dishes and were delighted. The portions were hearty and the quality of the food matched its generosity. Service could not have been more friendly and efficient. Recommended.

Popped in here for a bite to eat, not expecting too much. Food was really well prepared and delightful. Everything was so fresh and had that 'home-made' touch, even the side salad was delicious. Nice relaxed atmosphere. I unexpectedly recommend this wee place!

We passed through a year ago so thought we would visit again and we’re definitely not disappointed. We noticed that the chicken curry was missing from the menu which we were looking forward to. We just mentioned it in passing and the next minute they...were offering to cook it for us!! So impressed, there were plenty of superb alternatives but we accepted the offer and it was delicious. Please note this is a charming local family business not a fancy top notch place, it’s homely hearty tasty food and great staff. Thank you.More

Don’t miss this little hidden gem of a restaurant in Inveraray. Really excellent good value home cooked food and friendly service from the owners. We had a couple of evening meals there while visiting the area recently and would highly recommend the fish cakes and...the home made high quality steak pie and also the chicken and leak pie all washed down with a nice bottle of wine……perfect.More

We got the last table - thank goodness! Just so friendly, easy going, welcoming kitchen-type cozy diner. To be honest, we didn't expect anything other than a nice meal. It was first class, start to finish. And great service too. Its a place where you...would be equally comfortable having tea and cake or a full meal. Best steak pie in years. Rarely find food of this standard at this price.More

I just looked at the feature on The Cottage within Tripadvisor’s website - it states that they cater for breakfast, lunch, dinner & brunch. We visited for a light but late lunch and my husband had a fried egg roll.
