Always something different to enjoy on a lovely menu. The homemade soup is delicious as is everything else. All the food is fresh and tasty. Recommend this place to anyone visiting Hawick

Hoying it down so we were looking for somewhere to go for a quiet coffee and found this little gem up a quiet back alley. Friendly staff and lovely fresh coffee and a slice of cake. Didn't have lunch but menu looked good and thought...design of the place was great.More

In the Borders for a holiday and had lunch today at the Pickled Orange - very good choice of food at very reasonable prices - very good ambiance as a typical small local restaurant serving wholesome food - highly recommended

A lovely little cafe! It feels as though you are stepping into a better past, it is cosy and homely with great local ladies serving and good reasonably priced homemade fare! You go down a close from the high street and find what feels like...a secret gem. Highly recommended, especially the eggs benedict brunch with perfectly poached eggs!More

The access to this cafe doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but inside you'll find plenty of locals who know better. The Cullen skink is very good and the best value you'll find anywhere. The platters excellent. Lots of homemade goodies from soups to fruit crumble. Enjoy.

Dropped in here when on a day trip, nice wee place. Good service, the cakes & scones were a treat, all home made.

Tiny place in an alley, discovered by chance. Nothing special and certainly does not qualify as 'fine dining.' Nevertheless, very good food at reasonable prices. Whenever in Hawick, peep.

The weather was lovely and warm and we’d been shopping and thought we’d stop for lunch. We had heard things about the Cullen Skink at the Pickled Orange and so we decided to try it. We’re so glad we did, it was delicious, as good...as the best I’d had previously. We’ll certainly be visiting again and I’m fairly sure we’ll be having the Cullen Skink again. They also do good cakes and for the two of us ‘Skink’ and two slices of cake were just a little over £10. Certainly recommended.More

Traveled one and a half hours out our way to re visit this great wee tea room. The weather was ‘dreich’, however, as we remembered from a previous visit last summer, the Cullen skink was tasty and filling. Hartley recommend a visit to the pickled...orange for harty food and friendly staff.More

Fantastic brunch last week and equally impressive afternoon tea with friends today, both great value and fabulous service. The photo only shows one of the plates of goodies!

Hidden gem with great cooked food. Plenty of choice to satisfy a starving stomach. Quaint but hidden down a side yard but well worth the search for a popular dinner time venue
