This has defo been my fave place to eat for the last few years but the last couple of visits have been so disappointing. Just don't feel the choice of dishes are as good or are cooked as well. Maybe a new chef or something....More

You may well think you've arrived in an outpost of Spain. Seriously good tapas done as a preselected taster style presentation. Seriously good!

Something different and seemingly genuine tapas. We had the set menu so no choice of dishes. Nothing to worry about tho as the range and variation of the platters was really good. Good service and good vakue too. Well worth a visit.

Return visit. Relaxed feel to the place with friendly, helpful Staff. A good variety of Dishes, only downside is that the dishes arrive together and tend to go cold. That said it is a great experience and I would recommend. Book in advance though, very...More

We paid £30 each, had a couple of drinks and the total bill was about £75. Eat in the restaurant as it does get crowded down in the bar. Whatever you do I’m sure you’ll enjoy it 😀

Sorry I do not know. Tapas might not be attractive to some children but that is just my opinion. Best ask the restaurant

I did but it wasn’t hugely busy when we were there so you may be lucky. I think I would book though just to be safe. 😊

Description
Sol y Sombra has been Dundee’s most popular tapas bar since it opened in 2011. Born out of a lifelong love for Spanish food and culture, we have created a menu of fresh, authentic and simple tapas. The aim is to recreate the feel of a typical Spanish family meal, so everyone has to share and enjoy the meal as one. Our set menu for lunch comprises five cold tapas dishes and seven hot and dinner for seven cold and eight hot. And while it is set menu in the number of dishes and price, the dishes themselves change daily. The chefs use the morning’s freshly delivered ingredients to decide which dishes will be served that day. We can cater to all dietary requirements, and pride ourselves in offering truly delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. Alongside our restaurant upstairs, we also have a wonderful bar boasting a huge range of gins, beers, wines and cocktails. Our bar staff are experts in what we have to offer and will help you find the perfect drink!
