Nice place to eat. The food is spot on and there is a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very friendly too. Would definitely go back!

We visited on Saturday for a family meal and were treated to great valued bistro food. Some of the 'elderly' family travelled by train from Arbroath and being a 2 minute walk from the station it is perfectly situated. The staff were polite and helpful, while the food was what is expected for a Broughty Ferry establishment....Great. The choice of... More

Hello iluvtravelsomuch, thanks for posting your 5 star review. We enjoyed cooking for your family group, also judging by your "polite and helpful" description for our staff, we all enjoyed serving you on Saturday. It's super to hear of a more regular rail service to Broughty, we even see travellers wheel their luggage in to our Tavern Bar these days... More

My husband Peter and I had a really lovely Valentines meal. We had their special menu with a free bottle of Prosecco. It was absolutely delicious. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend it for either a casual meal or a special occasion. Thanks to all 😀😀

My husband and I went out for meal in brought ferry and came here for a drink afterwards. I have to say one of the best pubs I have ever been in. Very welcoming and staff very friendly. The girl on the bar Sharon made us feel very welcome and even remembered our order for our second drink and made... More

Have eaten here plenty times before and really enjoyed albeit not recently. Were there this week and picked a salad and other half had a chicken burger. Absolutely everything about the salad was terrible. It was supposed to be coronation chicken. It was plain bland chicken in mayonnaise I think with cayenne pepper sprinkled on top. Most bizarre and truly... More

Hello Salsagal50, Thanks for re-visiting. It's your ""old favourite" and "used to love" phrases which puzzle us most because NOTHING has changed here for 17 years. Same Kitchen Team, same owner, same recipes, suppliers and seasoning. Nevertheless we'll look at it. We wish you well and hope to see you again. Jon. More

We enjoyed a family lunch here while visiting Broughty Ferry before Christmas. Unfortunately I ordered a simple 'fish of the day", and while there was nothing whatsoever wrong with my meal, I wished I'd ordered the mussels my friend did, because they were honestly magnificent and came in a white wine cream sauce so lovely everyone was dipping their chips... Dear rachaelOz, thanks for visiting and for reviewing. It's a delight for us to have praise sent from the other side of the World! Our mussels are Galician (N. W. Spain) and are the closest to those found off the Scottish West coast. Our Kitchen Team I think perform miracles by perfectly cooking them (to order) in Chilean Sauv Blanc,... More

We are fairly regular diners at the Royal Arch and have never yet been disappointed. To describe their meals as pub food does them a disservice. The food quality is excellent especially the fish dishes and is always freshly cooked. They also happily serve 'granny' portions of some dishes for smaller appetites. A great pub and good food. What's not... More

Hello Angiejw33, thanks for reviewing and for scripting your kind words. Yes... I too lthink of our food offer as being positioned somewhere between excellent pub food and very good restaurant cuisine! I'd love to know your reason however for withholding the fifth star. We must try harder! Thanks again Angie, and haste ye back! Jonathan S. More

Went hear fro lunch last Saturday, I have not been for years. The food was amazing, quick service and big portions. The only thing I would say it was very drafty where I was sitting by the large TV in the lounge, that spoilt the experience for me as I am a bit of a cold tattie myself!!!

Dear JollydeeDundee, thanks for posting this review. Criticism of a draught is constructive. While we hope that this is a 1-off, we will take steps now to prevent any recurrence. Meantime I'll pass on your appreciation of amazing food and service and will say thanks again to our Kitchen Team. Best wishes, Jonathan. More

Was looking for a place to eat and came across The Royal Arch. Nice surroundings and very good menu/meals. The waitress who served us said that there would be a slight delay as they were very busy. However, meals arrived within 10 mins. 3 different meals were of high quality and I personally would recommend the fish pie. Asling for... More
