If we can, when we're visiting Edinburgh, we try to include a visit to this restaurant for a first-class Chinese meal. But note that Xanadu is not open on Wednesdays (who would grudge the hard-working staff a well-deserved break?). The welcome we get is genuine...More

Having arrived late in Edinburgh around the corner, the only option nearby was Xanadu. It certainly didn't look much from outside and stepping inside was a blast from the past, that I started to laugh. Have to say the staff were more than accommodating saying...More

I can't say much on the quality of the food. Just "good chinese". But it was a positive point that they had a "tea-time menu" (until 9PM) with sufficient choice that all of us chose fro it. A little bit cheaper than a la carte....More

This used to be my favourite Chinese in Edinburgh for 3 years. Would drive in to take away just to get it from here. I believe they changed chef or recipes. Partner and I both got noodle dishes, one beef and one prawn, and they...More

Description
Xanadu Chinese Restaurant is located in Edinburgh's Dalziel place, and offers delicious and authentic Cantonese cuisine. The dining room – with sky blue walls, crisp white linen tablecloths and dark wooden Oriental furniture – has a happy and vibrant atmosphere and is always busy with a young, sophisticated crowd. Xanadu's menu, created by experienced chef and restaurateur Colin Chiu, features classic Chinese dishes such as deep fried fillet of fish served with pears, pine seeds and sweet and sour sauce; fillet of beef Cantonese style served on a sizzling platter; and Xanadu's signature traditional Peking duck and Lobster Noodles with ginger and spring onions.
