We recently visited this restaurant while staying in Edinburgh. The standard of food was very average. Don't get me wrong it was tart, but there was nothing spectacular about it. Also the restaurant was not that busy and I felt as though the waitress was standing over us at all times.

Had prawn starters served in a small bowl with hot chilli sauce comprising 4 smallish prawns but mainly baby tomatoes. At £8 per portion. Tuna pizza came with a thin spread of Tuna. Service was friendly and prompt and the food was tasty but not great value.

We were hungry and came across this restaurant and so we gave it a try. Good el dante pasta and tasted Italian. Friendly staff and reasonable price! Quite busy at times and may need to reserve in advance. If you are looking for Italian food, you should try this one.

This used to be one of my favourite places. I had not visited in a while and was disappointed. The place is looking a little shabby(tables & chairs) and the mirrors could do with a good polish. Staff are friendly and polite as always. I only had a soup to go with fresh bread. The bread was lovely however the... More

Visited this lovely little place on my birthday for lunch with my partner. We were greeted by a smiling Italian gentleman (whose name I forgot to ask for - sir if you somehow read this please do let me know your name!) and were asked to sit wherever we wished. After asking a couple of questions about the food -... More

This restaurant is lovely; located right on the Grassmarket, it has a bustle about it. Popular among locals and tourists alike, with friendly and energetic waiting staff, the food as well is good, and they have a good selection of drinks.

Everything was perfect: location of the restaurant, quality of the products, welcoming waiters... Quite suprised by some of the other reviews here, since we went there for 3 dinners in 4 days in Edinburgh! Even on Hogmanay's dinner (New year"s Eve). We'd love to go there again next time we visit Edinburgh. Pizzas are the best we've ever eaten. You... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
