I was after an Australian style pie, as British pies are just.. I don't know.. not as highly evolved. And that's fine, nothing wrong with a little tradition. But yes, here they have some pretty good, rather cheap, fast pies.

Whenever I go to Edinburgh, I have lunch at The Piemaker. It's affordable, does crisp pies and pasties, and, unlike so many places, always offers an excellent selection for vegi's. I haven't been many places with such a good vegi selection. I like the place...More

I visited the place on March 2018. Best concept ever! Great pies at a low price. Great for lunch or a quick snack. A must visit as a snack-pit-stop between bars in the evening. I haven't stop talking/dreaming about these pies ever since

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

Not sure if they do Gluten Free. Most of what we saw was regular crusts. But if you're in the neighborhood, it's good to check it out. The guy at the counter very was friendly and approachable.
