We had stumbled in early on a Monday morning and walked in to a warm, cozy little cafe with delicious looking pastries and coffees being served to locals for the morning commute. We sat down and the server greeted us, asked us where we were from and made great conversation. The breakfast menu had a good variety of eggs, savory... More

The title of my review says it all really. If you're in the area and feel like treating yourself to a proper breakfast, then look no further. I've visited a few times now and have tended to stick to their delicious range of cooked breakfasts, although they also have very tasty looking selection of cakes and pastries. This cafe is... More

Firstly, book in advance if you are going at the weekend. This place is always busy. Saying that we only had to wait 15 mins. There are lots of lovely brunching options on the menu. I went for the Eggs Florentine which was exquisite! My boyfriend went for the 'Build a Bear' option where you can build your own breakfast.... More

Could not get a table for late breakfast .. understandable when it's busy however the arrogance and poor manners of the male member of staff put me off booking for the next morning of our trip... no matter how good the reviews may be you must be made welcome otherwise the food sticks in your throat ... your loss The... Over the past six months, myself and a couple of friends have been frequenting The Blue Bear on our days off. Having worked in the hospitality industry for 6+ years, its sometimes hard to find somewhere we can all agree on. However, we have never been disappointed with the service, the food, or the coffee at the cafe. It keeps... More

It is a friendly, well staffed with experienced people, nice location and its nice establishment. If I ordered what my partner had (French toast with fruit over the top) I would of left a very good review. But being honest I did not think the black pudding (marag dhubh) was that nice, I eat it all don't get me wrong... More

Chilled cafe, nice staff with lots of photos of Pategonia. At the back there are loads of board games to pass the time.

We were there on a busy early Saturday afternoon! Every table was full and there was a mixture of customers in! Service wasn't the quickest but we also at no time felt rushed! I had the eggs benedict and my partner the full breakfast! We were tempted by the nachos so will defo go back! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and... More

After looking online to find the best place for breakfast /brunch the Blue Bear was the one for us,we checked online about walk ins which was ok, but you can book in advance (it doesn't say it's recommended though) so after a lovely walk down to The Blue Bear we were a little disappointed to find there were no tables,but... Thank you for taking time to feedback on your experience. We value all feedback. I am very sorry to hear that you were made to feel unwelcome when you tried to dine with us. Our weekends are incredibly busy. we always keep a few tables for walk-ins and the rest for reservations. I appreciate that a 'reservations recommended' notice would... More
