We're a group who meet twice yearly for lunch at various restaurants in Edinburgh. RMW is the best we've found, and the first to which we've returned (three times!). The set lunch menu has differed each time we've been and offers a range of carefully crafted, interesting dishes with a couple of delightful amuse-bouches to get started. The service is... More

We were given a lunch voucher for this restaurant as a gift, so were keen to see what the venue and food were like... From the friendly welcome at the door, through the discrete but attentive service, to the superbly prepared food itself, everthing about the place reeks of quality. If the light lunch we tried was a typical sample... More

The seasonal tasting menus are absolutely exquisite and worth every penny! This is hands down my (and my familie's) favourite restaurant in Edinburgh and our go to for all special occasions. The courses are very delicate and an absolute taste sensation! The pictures really don't do it justice. Everything is brilliantly executed, from the service to the presentation and the... More

From our friendly greeting at the door and all of the service we had throughout our lunch everything was exceptional. I have an allergy and they looked after me so well and went to a lot of effort. The amouse bouche was exceptional and a great way to start the meal. I had the Emmental cheese soufflé which was as... More

We had a fabulous vegetarian tasting menu with wine pairing. Coupled with being vegetarians, I am also gluten free but each course was delightful and so tasty. Lots of flavour and not too much "French style foam". The new wine sommelier also needs a mention. His expertise in wines and pairings with our food was quite amazing. He is knowledgeable... More

i'm skeptical about another fine dining, ... i was really hesitating wether i should sleep over my reservation (terribly jetlag)... but eventually thinking about the turbot on the menu, i peeled myself up from bed, and went to the diner i 'm so glad i didn't miss. the amuse bouche with puffed beet macaron and some sort of cream cheese... Description
"<b>toptable Dining Awards 2007 - Runner-up: Best Ambience category</b><BR><BR>

The award-winning Martin Wishart restaurant in Edinburgh 's port of Leith is a stunning fine dining experience not to be missed. The relaxed cream and mocha colour scheme, fresh flowers and flawless service provide the perfect backdrop for the exquisite food. Wishart – who has worked with super-chefs such as Marc Meneau, Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White during his high-profile career – has a dedicated team of eight chefs working overtime to create the restaurant's Michelin-starred modern Scottish menu. We love the lobster and smoked haddock souffle with soubise spinach; the partridge and foie gras with red cabbage and apple sauce; and the roast loin and civet of hare with apple, beetroot, salsafi and black pudding sauce.
