Lovely word-panelled pub restaurant in great location on the Shore in Leith. Staff friendly but service extremely slow. Took 40mins from ordering starters for them to arrive. The wait for mains was less but still overlong. This is after being told we had a two...More

A very pleasant experience - busy and lively with friendly staff. The tempura battered soft shell crab went down well as a starter as did the ham hash cake with poached egg. The fish and chips seemed to be the most popular dish (with fish...More

There is no better place for lunch on a Sunday than at the Shore. Great ambiance with gentle live jazz in the background while enjoying a very generous and traditional Sunday roast for only £15. Superb service too. Just Excellent!

I love this place. Laid back jazz music in a beautiful cosy setting and really great food. Our hake dish was perfect and my husband's fish & chips I would say is one of the best we have tasted. And the lovely waitress was so...More

Went here with friends on a busy Saturday night, the restaurant part of the bar was fairly small and cosy but very busy, however it didn’t feel like you was on top of each other. We had starters and mains but couldn’t fit in a...More

I probably chose the wrong thing, but it was Friday night and I fancied fish and chips. Sadly my panko fried haddock was over cooked and rather dry. My wife and friends meals seemed good, the monkfish was apparently very good, and my wife enjoyed...More

Imagine a cosy neighbourhood pub with a good kitchen and this is it. Dreamy. Around £30 per head for 3 courses on a Saturday night.

Of course, all RESTAURANTS welcome small well behaved animals into their dining rooms. Well, so long as they are registered service dogs... #wow

Description
Situated on the Leith waterfront, The Shore is the ideal destination for those wishing to spend an evening in Edinburghs historic port. Boats line the harbourside where the sun sets slowly on hot summer nights, making The Shore a quiet and idyllic location: perfect for a relaxing evening and an intimate meal. The ambience is warm and charming, enhanced by the traditional and candlelit dcor of informal 18th century wood panelling, huge mirrors and real fires. The cuisine fuses classic British dishes with a modern European twist; we love the pecan-crusted fillet of ostrich, served with blue cheese dauphinoise potatoes and green beans. After dinner, head to the bar, where live entertainment is provided most evenings by local jazz and folk musicians.
