Wonderful meal--fresh fish as the plat du jour was spectacular. Simple prep, letting the freshness of the fish stand out. My husband had prosciutto-wrapped cod and it was also great. Yummy sides of mashed root vegetables and roasted cauliflower. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of...More

OK so visited recently with family for what was supposed to be a special meal. Unfortunately we thought we had booked Fishers next door...something that happens frequently according to Fishers staff. Same owners but it seems some sites have the two confused or its not...More

We managed to get a table in the bar on a Sunday lunchtime. The food was just sublime. The daily fish special was hake and was perfectly cooked. The wine recommendation was spot on, the service was attentive and the puddings were yummy. And the...More

The food was excellent, the drinks were well priced and the jazz trio later on made the evening a total success. The boss behind the bar was perhaps the best customer serving person I have met. The waitress was also an excellent addition to the...More

Of course, all RESTAURANTS welcome small well behaved animals into their dining rooms. Well, so long as they are registered service dogs... #wow

Situated on the Leith waterfront, The Shore is the ideal destination for those wishing to spend an evening in Edinburghs historic port. Boats line the harbourside where the sun sets slowly on hot summer nights, making The Shore a quiet and idyllic location: perfect for a relaxing evening and an intimate meal. The ambience is warm and charming, enhanced by the traditional and candlelit dcor of informal 18th century wood panelling, huge mirrors and real fires. The cuisine fuses classic British dishes with a modern European twist; we love the pecan-crusted fillet of ostrich, served with blue cheese dauphinoise potatoes and green beans. After dinner, head to the bar, where live entertainment is provided most evenings by local jazz and folk musicians.
