Patheric excuse for Italian food, horrible food we had delivered ( had to use our own oven to heat the food) called the takeaway to complain and they said they'd call me back in a couple of minutes and they still haven't received the call, used just eat to make order, next time I'll use a different Takeaway Waste of... We had fish and chips here the other day. The food was fine, but not the best I've had. The service was very quick and efficient. I would probably try them again if I'm nearby.

This is a surprisingly friendly place, good Italian food, deals often available. It is a nice place for an earthy meal out. Food was pretty average, and one of the pasta dishes had to be sent back because it was cold. To be fair the cost of the pasta dish was knocked off the final bill.

This place used to be okay. However, today we purchased two portions of chips. When we arrived home and opened them up, we were confronted with two portions of greasy, mahogany coloured, brittle, reheated chips. Horrible! Hopefully they will read this review and up their game.

Food very overcooked to the point it was almost burnt, and tasted reheated and very greasy. Staff not very friendly at all. Won't return. Highly unrecommended!

This is a sort of everything take away. We had fish and chips on an ordinary Saturday night, not late. Fish tasted like it had been cooked day before and chips were poor. Very pricey as well. We ended up tossing most of it away. Would not recommend.

Just had an order delivered and it was honestly the worst food I have ever had. My friend got the Mexican wrap which was almost empty. There was also an very wet and soggy pasta situation. It was almost like the pasta was not drained. Not one thing that was ordered I would deem edible. We will absolutely never order... More

Never been disappointed when I've been here. As well as your usual range of 'chippy' products they have a wide range of baked potatoes, pizza, calzone and other delights. Staff are friendly and helpful. Not open quite as late as other places in the area and a bit further from the main drag - a blessing at weekends as you're... More

Worst take away ever. We were waiting for a food almost 2 hours. Food wasn't warm, cheese at the chips wasn't even melted, mexican wrap dry and tiny. But we got complimentary bottle of coke - WOW! Never again

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighbourhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
