More than 10 years since I last ate at L’Alba D’Oro and I wasn’t disappointed. First clients of the evening, fish was freshly made piping hot with crunchy batter and cooked to perfection. Wife is for a distant land and really enjoyed an authentic fish...More

was amazing! Honestly this fish and chip shop is the best I've had in a while, the vinegar was nice and tangy; the chips were just right and the batter in the fish was nice and thin but so tasty!! I highly recommend this place...More

Ordered fish supper a while ago which was far from good, but we blamed it on being a delivery meal. We gave them a second chance on a Friday evening around 8pm. This time we picked up the meal ourselves. When coming into the shop...More

This is definitely the best fish and chip shop in the area, always friendly service and high quality food. I’ve always had to wait for the fish but that’s not a drawback - worth waiting for a fresh one if you can as think this...More

Very good place for a fish supper. Small little hole-in-the-wall place with a constant stream of customers. We didn't have to wait in any line. Felt the chips could have done with more salt and vinegar than was put on.

Given the rave reviews, we confidently brought our guests here for fish & chips. The service was really fast, everything was already cooked -- and that was at the problem. The chips were hot but had an old taste, the fish also. Did we just...More

Ordered scampi and chips, and then ate them in their sister restaurant next door. Sauces - tartare, vinegar, tomato, brown available. Very tasty.

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement
