Such a lovely restaurant. Service was very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. You can see the effort that goes into making such amazing dishes! 10/10

I live a few minutes walk from La Garrigue; my wife and I occasionally come here for lunch (which, although not cheap, is great value for money). It is a privilege to have such an excellent, welcoming and consistently reliable French restaurant nearby. We have...More

Based on our experience, I doubt the owner knows how to run a restaurant, but he knows how to put very high prices on their menu. The service lacked... well, everything: no smiles, no apologies, no checking on what we thought about the food, and...More

Had dinner here with my wife and a good friend on the recommendations I read on here and quite frankly I was disappointed. We had the soup special which was a fennel/artichoke soup which had little taste and was quite bland. For our main course...More

This restaurant has everything going for it. Brilliant cooks. The premises have a good atmosphere. I really enjoyed the food. What was missing was friendly interaction with the serving staff.

It was great to find a wonderful French restaurant right in the middle of Edinburgh. The food is excellent and the service is spot on. Make a reservation and enjoy a touch of Paris in Edinburgh.

We visited La Garrigue again after some time. It manages to remain like a wonderful French neighbourhood restaurant right in the centre of a Scottish city. Wonderful Spring Lunch menu.

We have never been disappointed at La Garrigue and this visit was no exception! From gorgeous confit duck starter to beautiful beef main finishing with delicious baba dessert! An excellent syrah from the extensive wine list accompanied all this. All this with 1st class service...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

The restaurant in Jeffrey Street is only about 150 metres to the Junction where the Royal Mile/High St. starts . It is also only a little further downhill to the rear entrance of Waverley Station.

Close to the Royal Mile, La Garrigue is a low-key yet chic French restaurant in the buzzing heart of Edinburgh city centre. Smart hyacinth and white-panelled walls strike a stylishly understated tone, with simple wooden seating and bright windows offering views over Carlton Hill. Cuisine is similarly deceptively rustic, specialising in signature dishes from the rural Languedoc region of southern France heartened by deft modern cooking.
